Discover is the third largest credit card brand in the U.S. based on the number of cards in circulation, behind Visa and MasterCard, with 57 million cardholders.[3]

Back when I was in high school I worked at an Esso and American tourists would whip out their Discover cards and get upset when I said we didn't accept them.
They claim to be accepted in 200 countries and territories, but there are only about 20 or so countries that they are reliably accepted in, by the their own admission.

IIRC from my time living in the states, Discover was basically a credit card that anyone could qualify for. So it may be that a lot of lower income people who generally wouldn't make the credit cut for Visa or Mastercard through a legit bank default to discover. I also think that Sears founded it.

The Scotia NHL® North Division is comprised of the Calgary Flames, Edmonton Oilers, Montreal Candiens, Ottawa Senators, Toronto Maple Leafs, Vancouver Canucks and Winnipeg Jets.
Looks to me like the old Smythe Division dumped the Kings and added the Leafs, Canadians and Sens.
I'm calling it the Smythe Division.

I mean I guess from a positives perspective we're not dealing with the Doug Lacey Basement Systems North Division.

Just start calling "the rookie of the year" "the rising star" instead, and the Viagra Rising Star award takes care of itself.

There was a time when they had the best cash back option with no fees, and it was Costco I believe that had an exclusive arrangement with them. So it was popular there for a while but seems to be dwindling.

Would a flaming Scotiabank logo really be worse as a crest than a flaming C?

This reminds me of the UFC where every little thing has a sponsor LOL.
"Harley Davidson Prep Point"
"Instant replay brought to you by Modelo"
"this look into the fighters' corners brought to by Corn Nuts: Corn to the core! The official corn-based snack of the UFC"

I miss the UFC days of Mickey's Fine Malt Liquor
They could pour that into the Stanley Cup as part of a sponsored celebration.

Mickey's quality control was inconsistent I found. Sometimes I would get a case and a few would be flat, skunky, or both. I think it was the type of bottles they used with the caps not always going on tight enough.

In time it will become, "Welcome to the Scotiabank Scotiabank, where the Scotiabanks faceoff against the Scotiabanks for the Scotiabank championship brought to you by Scotiabank Now please stand for the Scotiabank anthem..."

At least there are no inter divisional games this year or else I'd be worried the Honda Center curse would change into the Honda Division curse.
I'm reminded of a University paper I wrote for a Technology in Society course on "Advertising in the Information Age". I provided examples of the increasing technological impact of advertising on our lives and concluded this required a correction though strong regulations or even violent revolution (I'd just read Fight Club).
I got an A- on the paper with feedback from the professor that stuck with me. He noted I had focused on solutions to the problem of increased advertising but failed to note that humans are very adaptive and another option is that we all just get used to increased advertising and move on with our lives. I'm thinking the helmet and division ads fall into this. Sure there will be a bit of outrage and bemoaning the ever increasing hold of advertising but most fans will become comfortable with the changes.
