The problem is they will come forward with all sorts of fraud that the base will buy and start frothing at the mouth. It will be made up lies because you can lie when not under oath such as when you’re spouting off in the senate or congress.

That’s the difference between standing in front of a judge being very careful with your words so you don’t get disbarred and being free to say whatever crap you want to say any other times.

These s***bags can say whatever they want on Jan. 6th, but it still won't change the outcome of the election, and Biden will still be sworn in on the 20th.

It's not so much what they say though, it's the act of them doing it that is the problem, since it sets a terrible precedent going forward. All of this insanity would have ended immediately if the GOP had acted like mature adults, acknowledged Biden's win back in November, and moved on like normal human beings. But truth and facts don't matter to these arseholes. So they're purposely attempting to destroy public faith in the election process by trying to brainwash a gullible populace into believing that there was some kind of fraud or wrongdoing, even if they have no proof whatsoever to back up their claims.

They've already managed to convince 40% of the population that the whole thing is rigged against them, and that the courts, the DOJ, and the Democrats are all part of some sinister global conspiracy to turn America into some kind of socialist hellscape where they're gonna take away your guns and open up abortion clinics on every street corner. And as a result of this clown show, you can bet that every future election where the GOP loses will now be contested right up to inauguration, regardless of what the vote totals are, or whether or not they have any proof.

The damage that Trump and his cronies have done to to that country in just 4 years is both astonishing and incredibly frightening. I'm sure Biden will do his best to try and fix what he can over the next few years, but I'm honestly not sure if the U.S. can ever come back from this. It's scary how quickly democracy can unravel when one of the major parties decides to completely ignore the truth and entertain the idea of authoritarianism.

11 Republican senators to challenge Joe Biden's win, vow to vote against state electors

https://www.cbc.ca/amp/1.5859741

Quote:
A coalition of 11 Republican senators announced Saturday it will challenge the outcome of the presidential election by voting to reject electors from some states when U.S. Congress meets next week to certify the electoral college results that confirmed president-elect Joe Biden won.

President Donald Trump's extraordinary refusal to accept his election defeat and the effort to subvert the will of the voters has become a defining moment for Republicans and is tearing the party apart. Senate majority leader Mitch McConnell has urged Republicans not to try to overturn the election.

The 11 senators, led by Ted Cruz of Texas, said they will vote against certain state electors unless Congress appoints an electoral commission to immediately conduct an audit of the election results. They acknowledged they are unlikely to change the results of the election.

Hahaha 🤣

Imagine having someone insult your wife, accuse your dad of a heinous assassination, label you a habitual liar, and steal your dream job away from you.

And in response you sell out your country and the democracy that elected you to lead the effort to support that person and their harebrained con job.

Come on... Ted.

I know it's Texas but how anyone with even 1% of human DNA could cast a vote for this f'tard is beyond me.

Nothing they say is going to change anything. Both the House and Senate will vote on each objection and will need a simple majority from both sides on Jan 6th. The Democrats have control of the house and will vote no to any all objections. Game over.

Honest truth:

My (ex-)co-workers in West Texas didn’t like Beto because they didn’t like his stance on guns and on oil and gas.

Nothing else mattered to them.

I’d say Cruz just slightly ahead of Graham.

McConnell is probably the absolute worst person, just evil, hypocritical as it suits him, but he isn’t as greasy about it. He doesn’t try to appeal to people or pretend to give a crap about anyone all that much. He is pleased to screw you over because it’s what he prefers, and technically he can.

Cruz mainly because of how disgusting he is in how much #### he will take and still lick boot. What a bitch

Slimer is just being true to who he is. There is no depravity there

Lin Wood’s Ex-Law Partners Claim He Was Taped Admitting to Assaults, Asserting He May Be ‘Christ Coming Back for Second Time’

Quote:
Attorney L. Lin Wood may believe himself to be a vessel of the second coming, and he’s not referring to another Donald Trump presidential term. That’s what Wood’s former law partners wrote in a legal brief quoting what they describe as recorded conversations proving that the lawyer gunning to overturn the 2020 election has a habit of associating himself with “God Almighty.”

“I might actually be Christ coming back for a second time in the form of an imperfect man, elevating Christ consciousness,” an extraordinary footnote quotes Wood telling his partners. “That cause you to have a little bit of a chill? Who would be more eloquent to say what the will of God is, the belief of God in me.”

Wood is said to have called himself the representative of various Biblical figures.

“I represent Moses,” Wood allegedly declared on tape. “I represent Ananias the believer. I’m like the power of King David. Now look you all, I told you I was going to pray tonight to my God, not to myself, because to me there’s God and there’s me.”
Quote:
The former partners claimed that their relationship with Wood spanning roughly half a decade started deteriorating late last year as Wood began to exhibit “erratic, hostile, abusive, and threatening” behavior.

“In the Fall of 2019, defendant Wood also committed assault and battery on Grunberg in an elevator of a hotel during an out of town deposition,” they wrote in their complaint, which also alleges that Wood attacked Wilson. “In both assaults, there was essentially no reason whatsoever for the attack, and defendant Wood later acknowledged and apologized for this violence.”

What’s more, the partners claim, Wood admitted to those assaults on tape.

“The truth is that Wood has admitted to these assaults on multiple recordings,” they wrote in a footnote, describing Wood’s denials as “malicious.”

At another point, Trump said: “So look. All I want to do is this. I just want to find 11,780 votes, which is one more than we have. Because we won the state.”
i wish that SCOTUS put an opinion on the case that was brought forward just to stop this insanity, because now the refrain from the right, is that cases were dismissed on procedural grounds as opposed to hearing the evidence...

This is not true in the majority of cases i believe, but the GOP are spinning it this way.

Its disgusting and alarming at the same time... This is going have a corrosive effect on American Democracy that I don't see as being repairable.
