I would think Roslovic's name recognition/1st round draft pedigree might make him a little more valuable than Kylington, but I think that's a good basis for a deal.
Calgary maybe has to add a 3rd? 4th?

That's an awful deal for us, imo.
(I don't think very highly of Laine though)

Backlund, Hanifin and a first for Kane! Hawks are out time to move on.

Roslovic was teammates with Tkachuk at the USNTDP, by the way.

I think Tkachuk said Roslovic is his best friend not on the Flames in one of those "get to know" videos.

Assuming Kane’s wants a trade, I doubt Calgary is his choice destination.

Secondly, Chicago would have little interest in Backlund, since they would rebuilding.

They would like move Kane at half cap for a bounty of young players.

For Calgary that would start with Hanifin and Zary and go from there.

Well since Tre went and aquired all of Lindholm's friends, I think it's only fair to do the same for Chucky!

Wouldn't hurt when it comes to re-signing Tkachuk longterm...

Roslovic would just be exposed in the expansion draft would he not? Hope we're not paying much in that case.

Chicago isn’t going to pay $5+ million of Kane to play elsewhere, It would take something like Monahan, Hanifin and a 1st to land Kane.

Would have made sense before the Stastny acquisition.

Agreed makes very little sense now especially considering Winnipeg is over the cap and they take on more money. Had they not made the Stastny addition it would make a lot more sense for them.

I am a little suspect on Laine and definitely concerned about what it would take to sign him long term.

Little is going to the LTIR, which is freeing up 5 million in cap i believe.

IMO Laine and Monahan are pretty similar level of players right now. Although, obviously Laine does have the underlying potential to challenge for the Rocket, which Monahan does not. And it would be more traditional to have a top goalscorer as a winger instead of at centre.

I personally expect to be pleasantly surprised by Monahan’s two way play this year. I think things will finally click for him, both physically and positionally. Especially if you get him on a line without Gaudreau. Of course, I could be out to lunch. That said, I still think Monahan is a lot more versatile than Laine, both in terms of his play and in terms of his contract going forward.
