How often does it happen that one party wins the Presidency, and does not control at least one of the House or Senate?
It's pretty rare, but it does happen, with Clinton's re-election being the last time.
It used to happen more often in the eras where one party dominated Congress for long periods of time. Between 1932-1980, the Democrats held the majority in the House and Senate for 44 of 48 years, so Eisenhower and Nixon (twice) won elections where their party didn't hold a majority in either house.
Of course, the parties weren't as partisan back then, so it wasn't really an issue. Each party had their progressive and conservative wings and often the wings of each party would work together to get legislation passed. The Civil Rights Act for instance, despite being a Democratic-led initiative, had a higher percentage of Democrats oppose it than Republicans. Without Northern Republicans backing it, it would've never passed because Southern Democrats were so opposed to it.

Earlier this year, Mr Gevers also claimed he and other security researchers had logged in to Mr Trump's Twitter account in 2016 using a password - "yourefired" - linked to another of his social-network accounts in a previous data breach.
Incredible.

A Trump Health and Human Services Department appointee repeatedly discussed pursuing a so-called herd immunity approach to the Covid-19 outbreak this summer, new emails obtained by a House subcommittee show.
Rep. James Clyburn, D-S.C., chairman of the Select Subcommittee on the Coronavirus Crisis, which obtained the emails, said the documents demonstrate “a pernicious pattern of political interference by Administration officials.”
Caputo, who recruited Alexander, left HHS for a 60-day medical leave in September after he said in a video posted on his personal Facebook page that scientists at the CDC were engaged in “sedition” against Trump. Alexander’s departure was disclosed in the announcement of Caputo’s medical leave.
“As the virus spread through the country, these officials callously wrote, ‘who cares’ and ‘we want them infected,‘” Clyburn said in a statement. “They privately admitted they ‘always knew’ the President’s policies would cause a ‘rise’ in cases, and they plotted to blame the spread of the virus on career scientists.”

How is this not a capital crime?
Rhetorical.

In an interview with the Toronto Globe and Mail after his departure from HHS, Alexander defended his actions, stating that he had wanted the CDC to make their reports "more upbeat so that people would feel more confident going out and spending money", and that he "did not think agencies should contradict any president's policy".[16] Alexander also asserted that he was better suited than CDC scientists to assess data, saying: "None of those people have my skills. I make the judgment whether this is crap."[10]

Conspiracy theories and lies': Dems cry foul as GOP airs unsupported election claims
Christopher Krebs, Trump's former top election security official, said attacks on the election have undermined American democracy.
Quote:
The one witness called by Democrats, the Trump administration’s former top election security official Christopher Krebs, served as a counterweight. He urged Americans to put baseless election disputes behind them and warned that false conspiracy claims had fueled violent threats to election officials — including himself.
“I think we’re past the point where we need to be having conversations about the outcome of this election,” said Krebs, who ran the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security agency until Trump fired him last month. The attacks from Trump and his GOP allies on the election, he said, are “ultimately corrosive to the institutions that support elections.”
Krebs issued his plea at a hearing that grew increasingly contentious, while Johnson insisted without evidence that fraud had undoubtedly occurred at an indeterminable scale. It was Johnson’s last hearing as chair of the panel, and while he offered some words of comity to his Democratic colleagues, he also sparred bitterly with Peters, the ranking member.
Quote:
“Whether intended or not, this hearing gives a platform to conspiracy theories and lies. It is a destructive exercise that has no place in the United States Senate,” said Peters (D-Mich.).
“Some people just don’t want to hear how these systems actually work and what’s actually capable across these systems,” Krebs said, emphasizing that paper receipts that accompany election systems in nearly every state in the country help minimize the prospect of fraud.
Krebs also described a worsening climate of threats against elections workers, fueled by the false fraud claims, that he worried would have a “chilling effect” in future cycles. Peters added that Krebs himself was the subject of some of those threats, which “required us to make some arrangements for your security to be here today to testify in person.”
"Oh but beware those Lincoln Project guys. They'll just turn around and use their skills to demonize democrats as soon as they can. You can't trust them."
So much for all that handwringing.
When your whole ethos is about integrity, it makes sense to abandon a party that clearly has none left.

I'm not really interested in what these people label themselves as, if they're still supportive of the same neocon policies they've always been. That just means they're going to work internally to drag the Democrats over to where the GOP used to be, which is still bad.
There are already some warning signs of this with some of Biden's cabinet picks, but the media is still largely focused on Trump's shenanigans.

Jesus man, you really can't see how dogmatic your position is here?
