Learned today that Parler is supposed to be pronounced Parl-lay. Wonder how many users know that and would take issue with the french-ness of the name.

Rudy had some great quotes today.
Quote:
“I didn’t wanna really go to the hospital, and he said, ‘Don’t be stupid. We can get it over with in three days,’” Giuliani explained. “The minute I took the cocktail yesterday I felt 100% better,” he added a few moments later.
|
Quote:
“I think you can overdo the masks -- you can overdo almost anything,” he said. “Everything done in moderation makes much more sense. And what we’re doing to American business right now is disgraceful, and it’s not based on science.”

Annoys me that Rudy probably got the Regeneron antibody treatment while 2,500 Americans a day perish without special treatments.

Covid-0.
It didn't take out a single white deplorable republican. And they were all an average age of 80!

The State of Texas lawsuit is kind of interesting but I think even if they grant Texas standing it goes down the same way all of the other cases where if Texas was worried about their rights being infringed upon they had ample time to file prior to the election and so casting out 10 million votes made in good faith is not reasonable.

The US is going to end up with an oversupply of vaccine due to a) inefficient distribution methods and b) large numbers of people refusing/choosing not to vaccinate.
Scientists will point out that it would be beneficial to the global economy to distribute the excess vaccine to underdeveloped nations. Centre-right pundits will yell and scream that the Biden admin isn't doing enough to help the economy recover and "aren't following the science." They will also point out that this is encouraging illegal immigration. That people are trying to flee Central America to come get the vaccine in America.
Biden will override Trump's EO and distribute excess vaccine to a place like Guatemala.
Fox News & the rest of the Stupid-right will lose their damn minds.

These people have to stroke out at some time, don't they? They are so mad and so stressed all the time. It seems like just a matter of time. We can hope I guess.

There is absolutely no way in hell they grant Texas standing. Yet another meritless suit from a Trump crony, this time in Texas AG Paxton who is already under investigation for bribery.

Short article on the Texas case.
'For starters, Paxton brought the suit by filing a complaint directly in the U.S. Supreme Court. Keep in mind that, for the vast majority of cases, there’s a judicial hierarchy that applies. Civil complaints are filed in the trial court, which is called the “U.S. District Court” at the federal level. That court decides if the claims pass the straight-face test. If they do, that court will allow fact-finding—called discovery—and maybe even eventually proceed to trial, where evidence is heard through witnesses and documents. The process is known as “making a record.” That record gets frozen and sent on appeal. Appellate courts—first, intermediary courts of appeals and, ultimately, the U.S. Supreme Court—review the record for errors. They normally do not hear brand-new evidence.'

What about the interests of the rest of American voters? And for that matter, what about the interests of Texas voters who chose Biden? Paxton doesn’t seem to bother with them (but then again, let’s not forget that Trump is on a pardon spree and Paxton was indicted in 2015 for felony securities fraud charges but has yet to be tried).

Shouldn't all these jackass lawyers be disbarred by now? At what point does it become illegal to file so many ridiculous and insane lawsuits with no merit and no basis in fact or reality?
These poor judges. I picture them looking at their docket every morning and saying to themselves, "Jesus christ, another one of these f***wits? Alright, let's get this over with."
