The State of Texas lawsuit is kind of interesting but I think even if they grant Texas standing it goes down the same way all of the other cases where if Texas was worried about their rights being infringed upon they had ample time to file prior to the election and so casting out 10 million votes made in good faith is not reasonable.

Looks like Trump realized he done ####ed up. Can an executive order overrule signed contracts? Does this leave us screwed? I hate this man so much.

This executive order only applies to vaccines the US government has purchased. It has no bearing on vaccines produced in the US but already purchased by other countries. It is intended to prevent the US government from distributing vaccines to poor & underdeveloped nations through programs like COVAX.

Prediction:
The US is going to end up with an oversupply of vaccine due to a) inefficient distribution methods and b) large numbers of people refusing/choosing not to vaccinate.

Scientists will point out that it would be beneficial to the global economy to distribute the excess vaccine to underdeveloped nations. Centre-right pundits will yell and scream that the Biden admin isn't doing enough to help the economy recover and "aren't following the science." They will also point out that this is encouraging illegal immigration. That people are trying to flee Central America to come get the vaccine in America.

Biden will override Trump's EO and distribute excess vaccine to a place like Guatemala.

Yeesh. Motivation is pretty clear...

What about the interests of the rest of American voters? And for that matter, what about the interests of Texas voters who chose Biden? Paxton doesn’t seem to bother with them (but then again, let’s not forget that Trump is on a pardon spree and Paxton was indicted in 2015 for felony securities fraud charges but has yet to be tried).

These poor judges. I picture them looking at their docket every morning and saying to themselves, "Jesus christ, another one of these f***wits? Alright, let's get this over with."
