Speaking of Andrew Yang, his next step has to be the Mayor of New York right? Election is next November. I don't think federal politics is going to serve him very well going forward. Could he be in the cabinet? I doubt it.

When I worked elections, a poll clerk would have to write down the 3 digit number of the person voted (you're all given a code). So perhaps the total number of the voters recorded on the poll sheet does not match the number of ballots, or the codes don't match?

I'm not sure if poll books are kept in hard copy or electronically, but I think they just keep track of the information of the people who voted without counting votes. So if there is a different number of people in the poll books than there are votes, that would mean they're out of balance.
But - and with the caveat that I'm no expert - I think this probably happens in every election. The only instance it would be relevant is if the amount of the difference was greater than the amount of the vote gap - i.e. if one candidate won by 50 votes and the books were out of balance by 100 votes. But that's just my relatively uninformed take so I could be missing something.
EDIT for update:

Oh this sounds different. Like there are ineligible voters on the list and their votes counted. Because it talks about canvassing which is the census I presume? But as Corsi said, it not going to be out by thousands.

(CNN) - President Donald Trump on Tuesday fired the Department of Homeland Security official who had rejected Trump's claims of widespread voter fraud.
https://www.cnn.com/2020/11/17/polit...ump/index.html
Trump announced on Twitter he was firing Chris Krebs, the director of the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency, and directly tied it to Krebs' statement that said there "is no evidence that any voting system deleted or lost votes, changed votes, or was in any way compromised."

Trump and his enablers doing everything possible to burn the entire house down on his way out the door. What a petulant, reprehensible piece of s***. God, I hope this arsehole ends up in prison at some point.

Maybe the house needs to be burned down. Politics all the way down to canvassers. Its amazing how it's worked for so long.

Good news regarding Georgia.
https://www.cnn.com/2020/11/17/polit...unt/index.html
Quote:
Georgia is on a "good schedule right now" to finish an audit of the presidential election by Wednesday and thus certify its results by Friday, a top state voting official says, and the vast majority of counties are reporting results that are "spot dead on" to the initial tallies or finding only minor discrepancies.
Gabriel Sterling, the state's voting systems implementation manager, said Tuesday there are only approximately 300,000 ballots left to be hand-counted in Georgia out of the nearly 5 million cast in the presidential election.
Meanwhile, election officials from 29 counties across Georgia told CNN that they had already completed their audits and found no discrepancies with the results -- further discrediting President Donald Trump's lies about widespread fraud in the state.
The state is required by law to certify its results by Friday, which would thwart long-shot efforts by Trump to delay certification and potentially overturn the results of the state's election through the Electoral College.

It seems that they use the term "canvass" to mean the official counting of the votes.
https://www.eac.gov/sites/default/fi...st_26_2010.pdf
Quote:
The purpose of the canvass is to account for every ballot cast and to ensure that each valid vote is included in the official results. For an election official, the canvass means aggregating or confirming every valid ballot cast and counted—absentee, early voting, Election Day, provisional, challenged, and uniformed and overseas citizen. The canvass enables an election official to resolve discrepancies, correct errors, and take any remedial actions necessary to ensure completeness and accuracy before certifying the election.

People voted
The votes were counted
What's the issue here?
