If senate goes republican does it really matter if Biden wins then? Lame duck presidency. You need it all to enact change don’t you?
It matters obviously...a decent human being in the white house goes a long way. Also you have a chance at the senate in two years with some favorable races.
Dems are going to pump a ridiculous amount of money into the run offs too

True. But if I'm not mistaken, Biden would still be able to reverse all of Trump's dumbass executive orders from the past 4 years, like restoring environmental protections, etc.. He can also start to repair the relationships with America's allies around the world (including us) and get the U.S. back into the Paris Climate Accord, Iran Nuclear Deal, and so forth.

Let’s be real here - the important thing for the sake of the world is sanity and stability from the White House.
Everything else can happen in its due course.
The next two years are going to be about controlling Covid and rebuilding international trust.
This.
Half or more of the next presidential term is simply going to be about the pandemic recovery and getting things back to some semblance of normalcy domestically and internationally.
You want to be doing that under a sane man who is for cooperation and unity that will work with the medical professionals.

In normal politics, a Dem House, GOP Senate, and Dem President could in theory work together and pass compromise bills and bi-partisan legislation. Moscow Mitch has made it clear going back to Obama's presidency that a Republican-controlled senate will be 100% obstructionist and pass nothing the Dems want.
So the most likely scenario is both the pandemic and recession worsen due to Republican senate intransigence, the American electorate erroneously blames "do nothing" Biden, and the GOP wins back control of the House in the 2022 midterms. It's all so sad and predictable.
I'm hoping we've reached the end of the line with Pelosi and Schumer. Two of the most ineffective leaders in the history of American politics. The Dems need fresh blood.

I'm sure this has been made into a 'Purge' movie. It has to be....right?
