Sarah McBride being the new Delaware Senator makes her the highest ranked transwoman in US history.

Disappointing it hasn't been more of a blowout, but not at all surprising.

I'm not seeing how that's the different in Canada.

Not really because each state congressional delegation gets a vote. So you have to determine which party has a majority of reps in each state. In general the republicans always Control a majority of state delegations.

That's fair, but as far as overall attitude from people, when I converse with them they still identify themselves as a member of a party. The alignment to particular parties is very strong in Canada.

I think that's more prevalent on the right really; there is quite literally 1 right party, 2 left parties and a 1 centre party (which is painted as hard left for convenience reasons, so you could say 3 left parties).
I've voted for at least 3 different parties federally.

Yes and no. Personally I've never been ''loyal'' to a specific party simply because of their logo. I've flip flopped between left/right on many occasions for multiple election. I know others who have done the same.
I guess it depends on who you converse with. But overall I don't think it's accurate to say that Canada has that same division politically as the US. We also get multiple parties to choose from. IMO that's a big factor.

Public opinion, sure. Some are not easy to change. Especially the rural Albertans.

We look to be headed to a recount in multiple states and likely some court and Supreme Court nonsense.

I was just about to ask what the mandatory recount margins are for WI, MI, GA, etc. This thing is on a razor's edge now, and I'm wondering how many recounts we see before the courts even get engaged.

Reposting this for anyone who's looking for a good tracker to follow along with today at work. It's really comprehensive and gives the breakdown of the vote by state, as well as the percentage of votes counted.

??? The margin is still 100,000 with 99% in. Percentage wise it is still 51/47.6. Consistent with the Kelly/McSally data as well, 53.4/46.6. Seems they got it right. Looking further into the numbers, the outstanding vote is in some really sparsely populated areas and then Coconino, Maricopa (Phoenix), and Pima (Tucson), which all broke hard for Biden.

Florida and Texas as blue was the only path that didn't involve nonsense.

86% according to CNN & Bloomberg.

I have not seen a single site that has AZ at 99%. If it was that, CNN would have called it too.
