Weekend Update, PC gangsters, Real Bostonians and Jack White. So amazing.

That might have been my favorite bit. Weekend Update and Burr's monologue were also great.

I can't remember the last time I laughed this much watching a new SNL episode. I mean, pretty much every skit starting from the opening monologue all the way to the end was good. Bill Burr is a treasure.

Pumpkin spice beer made me cry, literally...
"This is the kind of beer that someone brings over to your house and you put it in the fridge where it sits for eight months until someone asks "do you have any beer left?" and you say, "no, just this sh...t"...

We actually have a friend, who brings all kinds of obscure liquor that nobody has ever heard of and too ashamed to re-gift thereafter; it sits unopened forever.

Glad to see some rock back. It felt for a while that nobody good wanted to perform there anymore. Jack White is so talented, but I didn't like the two songs he did. Needed more instruments to sound good, imo. Sounded a bit empty.

People once again demonstrating just how much they don't understand comedy in attacking Bill Burr for his "controversial" monologue. As far as Burr's bits go that was tame as hell.

One of the best explanations I’ve read for why Bill Burr works is that he’s 100% angry, mostly right, but 0% hateful.

Yep, a lot comedians he's compared to are actually shock style comedians that just try to find things to say that are offensive. Bill is an angry Irishman that rants very genuinely on things that actually piss him off.

He's not trying to shock an audience, he's letting you into his world, and most importantly he'll back off any position if he looks into further and determines he was being ignorant. And despite what many progressives mistakenly think, he actually is really progressive himself.

That bit about white women stepping in and hijacking woke culture when it was supposed to be for minorities and discriminated groups was excellent.

Jack White was amazing! Ball and Biscuit is one of my favourite tunes! Was so happy he played that.

That Sam Adams sketch was one of the best I have seen in quite some time. It had me crying.

That Sam Adams sketch is even funnier to me when I remembered Bill Burr is also in the Dave Chappelle Sam Jackson sketch

And he’s so good at this while remaining hilarious. Example:

Predictably, the high bar set by Burr will be hard to follow. Pretty mediocre episode with Issa Rae hosting last night. Barely a couple of smirks; no good laughs. And why are they pushing Bieber so much? Teenage girls don't watch SNL.

Do teenage girls still listen to Bieber? It seems like he's been out of the spotlight for a while, and he must be in his 30s by now. There are dozens of current pop stars who have basically taken his place over the last several years.

I don't think that SNL has the ability to attract top musical talent anymore. I pretty much never watch the musical acts because the majority of the time it is garbage. In all honesty, it seems like even with hosts SNL is having a tough time attracting talent.

I thought he was really good. His music has matured over the years like he has thankfully. I like him.

Thought his voice was really off, particularly the second song. And why did he stare at the floor after both performances, could not even acknowledge the audience? Overcome with emotion? Is life that bad for the Biebs? C'mon.

Very weak episode all around.

You could ask 100 people who is "top musical talent" and get 100 different answers.

SNL decided long ago to normally book artists that will attract the most eyeballs.

Carrey is wrong as Biden. They have the look down, but Carrey is too manic to play Sleepy Joe. Hammond would do a better and darker Trump too.

Update is sharp now, when they decide to go dark.
