The Drew Barrymore Show bit was good. I'm not sure who that was doing the impersonation but it was bang on.

Maybe they had too much material because that was disappointing. I don't know about Carrey as Biden, it needs some work. Woody was a lot better IMO.

The musical guest for this week's episode has been uninvited after video of him partying without a mask was released. His music sucks so I wasn't going to watch him anyway but hopefully they replace him with someone who isn't a ######.

"Simp" country. It's completely taken over "bro" country. Country radio is unlistenable at the moment because they often play three male love ballads in a row. Even the Drumheller station does it.

He literally has a song that starts, "Poor me, pour me another drink." Ugh.

It's not even country music anymore, and has much more in common with generic pop and R&B. If you want authentic country music these days, you have to dig into the Americana and bluegrass scenes, and outlaw artists like Hank Williams III, Steve Earle, Willie Nelson, etc...

They should go with performances by the house band instead.

Has Weird Al ever been a performer? Over the years I've read that the musicians in his band are some of the best around.

Jack White was fantastic. Can't even remember the last time they had an actual rock band on that show. It was refreshing.

I enjoyed what they did with that. Didn’t see it coming.

SNL is generally better when the knives are sharp.

Herman Cain as one of the flies.
Bill Burr on white women and pride month.
Weekend Update doing “dark” jokes.

Burr, having forgotten the name of the (this time) fictional Black man killed by white cops, tries to save his bacon by exclaiming in a moment of inspiration, “There are so many guys to name—that’s the problem!”

Jost got his gasps, appropriately enough, by describing the learned-absolutely-nothing spectacle of a COVID-stricken Trump speaking to a live, equally unmasked White House crowd being like watching someone smoking through a hole in their neck. Meanwhile Che heard the uneasy responses and just plowed ahead, into the Twitter-banned territory of wishing the president dead. To Trump’s steroid-fueled brag about him catching the disease he’s done exactly nothing to prevent (calling it “a blessing from God”) Che quoted God as saying, “Hey, we tried guys.” And speaking of Trump’s gasoline-on-the-fire “leadership” on COVID, Che got his biggest groans (and my highest scores) for claiming that, while he’s not glad Trump died from the disease that’s killed over 210 thousand Americans on his watch, seeing Trump up and about is like “a car crash where the only survivor is the drunk driver.”

Okay, somebody tell me that Melissa Villaseñor is okay. For the second week in this new, admittedly screwed-up season, no Melissa—not even in the goodnights that I saw. Are people working from home? Performing in shifts? Send up a flare.

Bill Burr was awesome. It would have killed with a regular crowd, that social distanced small crowd really hampers the style and flow of a monologue.
