Too many other bad teams who can't get good players to completely shut them out. Ultimately teams need to make themselves better and not worry about them. If you can get a good player for a bargain price it's a move you should make.

Some folks think that a team like Ottawa will not take Schmidt for a 2nd rounder because of solidarity though, so there is that.

Been to 3 games in Vegas. Most of the fans I talked to were previous fans of other teams before the Knights moved in. Had no problem with them, they like their hockey.

It will be awfully disappointing to see Vegas wiggle out of this relatively unscathed. I hoped NHL GMs wouldn't let them sign Pietrangelo without first making them part ways with their next couple first-round picks.
