They let James Neal walk.
We literally signed James Neal.

They are not as old as I thought they would be either. They have big money committed to a few older guys now. But it will be 4 years until they start to feel the pain of these high price contracts to older players.

Well, they are paying a 35 YO goalie and a 31 YO LW $7M each.

I’d love to see the 30 other GM’s take a stand and screw these idiots over. I can’t stand Vegas and their fake fans.

While guys like Schmidt would fetch a decent return, LeBrun suggested that no one is eager to help them by taking guys like Fleury.

It will be interesting to see if they have to move some draft picks to get some salary cap help.

Would another team want flower when they have to pay him $14m?

Full NMC is key. Darth Vadar has more loyalty to his minions in his metal pinkie than McCrimmon does.

To make the money equal (tax difference) it would have to have been more like 10.5M a year.

He was offered around the league with 50% retained and a second round pick with no takers.

I think they need to add a first round pick to that to get it done.

I’m guessing that a Vegas would still have been the winner.

What would happen if all the other GMs refused to deal with them? What happens to a team that’s way over the cap?

Seriously, what the heck were the Blues thinking signing Faulk to that ridiculous contract which led to this?

Next season they have 11 guys signed with less than $20M in cap space. And the following season 10 guys signed with even less money yet. Their leading scorer had 66 points and all world Stone had 58. They are no super team, they got lucky in the expansion draft with the rules.

Schmidt alone, even with no salary back, doesn’t get them under the cap.
