Who says that the pandemic will be over in a year? Does Taylor Hall have a crystal ball? It could be years before the cap starts going up again. If he actually cares about winning, now was the time to pick a winner, not some theoretical date in the future when things will be "normal" again.

Big fail for Hall and his agent.

He will be in the playoffs (if there is any) at the season end.Just not likely with Buffalo.

I’m sorry but I just don’t agree with anyone who has a positive spin on this deal at all. This baffles me.

But atleast he picked Buffalo over Edmonton. Even with the best player in the NHL they can't attract top tier UFA's.

Hall took a 1 year, short term high-cash deal that had nothing to do with winning just so he could get to market next year when an additional 81.5M of cap space is available thanks to Seattle.
Hall went from my favourite non-Flame to an absolute nobody on my list of favourite player.

“Wants to win” pffft, they even screwed up the 8th overall pick this year.

Guessing Hall didn't like the offers with term, so chose to take the money for a year, see what happens with covid, and try again next year.

Still pissed. Lol . Did we just loose out on Hall because of Tanev signing? I like Tanev but choosing him on a 4 year contract over a 1st line player is nuts. I rather have Hall for one year than Tanev for 4.

I don't know if I consider Buffalo all that close to Calgary.

			Interesting.
This makes Eichel, who is about as high maintenance as any star it seems, happy at least until the trade deadline. Hall can coast and probably put up decent numbers until then as well.

Come trade deadline he can sign for the team he wants to sign for in the next offseason (Flames) and couldn't get him this offseason due to the cap, and will cost the new team a player a pick and pro rated cap space, and they get him for the playoffs this year too.

			Honestly am okay with this.
Gives the core one more go. If they don’t get the job done we can have money opened up for Hall next season.

The fact that Seattle will be a major player with no cap-constraints is huge as a marquee free agent in the end.

I honestly won't be shocked to see free agent Nugent-Hopkins and Hall reunite in Seattle.
