Ya, after my ex-girlfriend stopped talking to me and started dating other guys, I moved on and wished her well too.

Did the coyotes think he'd actually want to go back there???

In case you didn’t know, there more drafts in the future.

LOL. The reason you see so many trades before the draft is because of the value attached to the picks in that years draft. Go back and look at the volume of off season trades, particularly major ones, before and after the draft and I suspect you’ll notice a difference.

Doesn’t mean there won’t be a trade, just stating my surprise there hasn’t been one to this point and therefore the likelihood of one happening has now decreased.

This year the draft was so deep. The picks were therefore more valuable and less likely to be traded, especially the closer they got to it.

I think there will be a deal or two before Friday but I suspect more movement after free agency has opened up likely a decent amount of movement Friday-Tuesday

more need to go out to make that work under the salary cap. Combined they would make (I would guess) 18-21 million, we have a little more than 16m to spend, including to re-sign Mangiapne

I can't see how the money works on this...so you probably need to put a few more core pieces in the "out" column.

I don't know why but I actually want Holtby more than Markstrom.

I imagine Ryan will be moving too. Completely solid player, but if he is going to be on the 4th line, it would probably be good to move him for a pick - even future considerations - just to get that cap back. I will miss him though, but just too rich for the 4th line (and he is better than a 4th liner anyway entering a contract year - deserves to get more of a role on a different team).

You'd have to trade away Ryan and/or Rittich in order to sign Mangiapane. But it's theoretically possible. Especially if Gaudreau was traded.

Probably cause he will have some good years and cost half as much on a shorter deal.

Holtby also has six years that are better than Markstrom’s best year, he’s top 10 in career playoff save percentage, he has a Vezina, a Jennings, a Cup, and oh he’s only four months older.

I said this in the last trade thread, but I don’t see what makes Markstrom that much more preferable to Holtby - I’m good if we end up with either, but Holtby is an absolute stud.
