I mean, it is something I've brought up in regards to Markstrom leaving the Canucks. Bobrovsky was an Ian Clark product and started slipping after Clark left. Lack looked to be on the starter track in Vancouver, but when he went to Calgary, Sigalet altered how he played and he never got back to that level.
Goalie coaches can have an amazing affect on a goalie, both positive and negative. I doubt Marky reaches this point with out Clark and it will be interesting to see if he continues on this path without him.
Is this something that I think teams should be really worried about? No. Is it something teams should be taking into account? I think so.

HAHAHA I lvoe when we start ripping on Sigalet.
But I do agree, he kinda sucks at his job, from the outside.
And you at least hear rumours about how goalies love working with certain guys, but you definitely never hear that about sigalet.

Eddie Lack was slipping well before he got to Calgary. What has Sigalet had to work with in his tenure?
Ortio, Ramo, MacDonald, Berra, Hiller, Backstrom, Elliot, Johnson, Gillies, Smith, Rittich, Talbot

And all 12 of these guys either regressed or failed to progress under Sigalet. Rittich might be the exception, but even he fall back this year.
That's mostly because most of them were old.
All signs point towards Sigelet's incompetence. But as fans we have almost nothing to go off of, so I don't really care whether they keep him or not.

I forget it was Carolina that ruined Lack. My point stands, though the blame falls somewhere else.
Counter point to that is when Clark got Bobrovsky he wasn't great. When Clark got Markstrom, he was real bad.Korpisalo and Merzlikins are two guys he specifically targeted for Columbus before he left. He either built or rebuilt these guys. It's what makes him so sought after.

I know what you're saying, but Lack is a very poor example. He spent two years in Carolina before even getting to Calgary- his fall had nothing to do with Sigalet and everything to do with having irreparable damage to his hips.

Lots of stuff on Twitter about the Preds opening cap space to take a run at Hall. Who does Hall like more? Head coach Hynes or Assistant coach Ward?

Every once in a while the forum takes a little longer to refresh/load, and I get all excited thinking there's been a big trade.
Looking like any moves will have to wait now though, don't think 4th/5th/6th rounders are critical pieces to make a move happen today.

@irfgaffar
Doesn’t sound like the Canucks will qualify Troy Stecher today.

Yes, he would. The team that gets Tony Stecher from Richmond is getting a heart and soul guy who can play up the line up when needed.
I hope we circle back and keep him.

Unfortunately I think Hall would sign with the Preds over the Flames unless he wants to come home

He's the goalie COACH!
If he can't coach them to be better why do we need him.
It amazes me when people use this excuse. So he would be a good goalie coach if we get a goalie who is already great and doesn't need coaching?

Goalies giving credit to Sigalet has been a pretty common theme. I think it was Smith that was raving about how Sigalet works with the goalies strengths and doesn't try to change major things that has gotten the goalie to where they are.

You can't get blood out of a stone. Goaltending coaches aren't around to make bad goalies great, their job is to work with goaltenders and help them make tweaks to improve their game; the goalie needs to have talent to start with.

LeBrun has the Preds, Jackets and maybe Oilers as suitors for Hall. No Flames connection outside of Pagnotta and Eklund

They're not walking because we over paid myers. Stech and Toffoli are stuck in OEL limbo.
