My god, I'd love for him to go to Calgary. Calgary isn't that scary with Markstrom. Colorado is "got good at the wrong time I guess" good with him.

Over the last 4 seasons:
Bobrovsky: .916 save percentage
Markstrom: .913 save percentage
Bobrovsky just got paid $10M AAV / 7 YR (Signed as a 30 year old) last year and you don't believe Markstrom will get close to a 7M figure at potentially a year less term?
|
By this logic, Lehner should have signed for 14 million.

I feel like I missed out on forum fun this afternoon. Stupid work.
Anyway, surprised there's few rumors of teams flexible on moving picks, could just be the quality of the draft.

I don't know of a source that shows that information, but his giveaways were 3.13 per 60 and penalties taken were 1.96 per 60 in the playoffs at center, over the previous 3 regular seasons, it was 1.98 for giveaways and 1.66 for penalties taken, where he was a predominantly a winger.
I know the C sample size is small, so those numbers are far from definitive. But it does back up what I saw in the playoffs.

Bobrovsky had two Vezina's and a career .921 save percentage in his time in Columbus.
Markstrom has never even been a Vezina finalist, and a career .913 save percentage in his time in Vancouver.
Not even a close comparison IMO. And really Bobrovsky is just even more proof that goalies are Voodoo and giving them a big contract is crazy.
He looked like as sure a thing as there is and he put up a .900 save percentage this season.

It seems like you are really downplaying how key Markstrom was to your team to soften the blow if you lose him.
Canucks gave up a ton of shots because they were frequently outplayed. Markstrom had a great year and I think he was the Canucks MVP.

The defence and system in place in Columbus benefited Bobrovsky severely just like it is for both Korpisalo and Elvis now.
If you think Markstrom getting into that 6.5-7M range isn't realistic then we'll just agree to disagree and one of us can say I told you so on Friday.

Next up on CanuckPuck.com
Blaster86 makes another thread about a Canuck!
You're a decent poster but serious eff off with all this Canucks talk. If I wanted to hear about the Canucks I'd go outside.

Disappointingly quiet on the Flames front so far today other than the whole “The Calgary Flames may or may not be super busy” general stuff from Lebrun/The Fourth Period.

BUF would/should be all over MAF at full cap (sending Hutton back, retained if necessary, since VGK needs a backup)
MAF technically has a 10 team NTC. I imagine it's closer to a 2 team (BUF, EDM) at this point though.

Who is happy that with the draft to start in an hour that the Flames haven't moved their 1st?
I know I am.

Again seems like they have identified a couple of high profile free agents (Hall, Markstrom) and dominoes will fall on the basis of if they get those guys or not.

I'm happy they didn't move their 1st but wish they either picked up another one ore moved up.
