Murray and the Columbus goalies are the only ones I'd have any interest in from that list.

This gives me faith in what Tree will do this off-season.

Johnny was disregarded, as Dallas not having the assets to make that happen.
But if Bisop is suddenly in play... Bishop, their 1st and Ty Dellandrea would probably work for me.

Yuck. I don't want any part of Bishop let alone for Gaudreau. The Stars already spank us enough without giving them Johnny. The 1st is way too late. Ty is nice but not that nice.

Well, hopefully Bennett shows up next year. Because if he doesn't, then this is a MASSIVE opportunity lost. His value right now is highest it has been over the past few years.
Before people were okay with Bennett being traded but said his value was low... Now, his value is fine so why not go ahead and make the move.
I mean, I hope it works out but I also think this can be a lost opportunity.

I would be perfectly okay with trading Bennett. I actually think the Pens might bite at Bennett for Murray

Bishops SV% is inflated due to his size. Yes, that works out in the long run of a season, odds are he will be in front of most shots.
But, he isn’t, and never has, been the guy to make a couple big saves to win a game.

Murray is trending down faster than any goalie I can think of in recent years. To go from what he was to what he is - and then to listen to the goalie guru on the Fan 960 absolutely destroy his game from a fundamentals perspective was eye opening.
I’m not sure we should be looking at Murray.

I would think they would jump on that. But why would the Flames?
There are multiple goalies better than Murray available in free agency

Pat Steinberg @Fan960Steinberg
Treliving says the goaltending market right now is as fluid as he can remember.
“I thought David was excellent early. I thought Cam was excellent late. Goaltending was a strength in the playoffs. Returning the same goaltenders next season is not necessarily a bad thing. #Flames

Well Tre can't really say "our goalies blew the biggest game of the year and we are desperate for an upgrade"

I agree. I look at Cam Talbot's numbers. That guy can be a number 1. And I think David might have an extra gear too. Plus, it would likely be a cheap tandem, could be about what it would cost to sign Markstrom alone. That would leave space to improve other areas.

I think this is more of a "we don't think we are getting any of the big names so, yeah" kind of comment.

RE: Bennett. Makes sense they plan on keeping him. I think they've found the coach that will put him at center and leave him there. Mostly 3C.
Goalies: I suspect they keep one goalie over the other depending on who they acquire. If they get Murray or the CLB goalies, they'll re up Talbot for the vet presence. If they get a holtby or Crawford, they'll keep Ritter. Makes sense to me. If they get a Young goalie, I dont think they'll gamble that both young guys lose their way.

The point is its a waste of money to "buy a big name goalie". Sorry it mucks up your pretend GM posts.

If you keep saying it, it might start to matter!
Question: if we traded for Vasilevski, would he no longer be a goalie you can win with?

It does matter. It just doesn't fit into your opinions.
