Also pretty unlikely, Colorado has Burakovsky who will look to be paid handsomely after his strong performance in the regular season and an even better playoffs. Then Sakic will have Landeskog and Makar to lock up a year later. If Makar has himself a Norris calibre season next year, I could see a deal into the 8 figures range, so Sakic will have to keep that in mind. He can easily grab one guy, but I suspect the expansion draft could further limit his options as well.
Just off the phone with a source who has told me the main reason Markstrom has yet to sign in Vancouver is the belief that Calgary has targeted Markstrom as their #1 Priority.

Would make for an entertaining day if all 3 signed in Calgary to form a super team like in the NBA. Are Pietrangelo and Brouwer friends? I think Brouwer still lives in Calgary and those 2 played together for quite a while.
At least 2 or 3 big ticket contracts would likely have to be traded for futures to make this happen though. Despite its unlikeliness, it would be hilarious to see the reaction of Oiler and Canuck fans as well.

This hilarious idea I have in my head seems wasteful but totally worth it. Trade ARZ Edmontons 3rd round pick for Halls rights. Then we can say we traded Neal for Lucic, Hall and retained salary!
