'There is a lot of assumption', but it isn't a certainty. Quite often, people go to a new team thinking they'll go back the next year, but end up staying, once they get to know the new team better.

It matters how they treat him, as that will determine whether he is interested in staying and re-signing. And he was clearly upset about his last early pull.

Of course, this time it didn't work but I still don't think it was a bad move.
It's an aggregate problem. No jays starter has thrown 100 pitches. Nor have any seen the 7th inning (and only 2 have completed 6 innings).

That adds up. And it puts increasing pressure on the bullpen. The effects of that started to show last night, and will surface more and more as the season goes on, if things don't change.

Up against deGrom today with most of the Jays best hitters either struggling or still out of the line up.

Going to be a tough one.

I am expecting that the injuries will finally catch up to them, and they are about to enter a prolonged offensive slump.

The bullpen has also been excellent and when you've got options down there, especially multiple guys who were recently starters, who throw hard it make sense to me to want to go to that.

I think the Jays have it right here and are playing to their strengths. Probably could do better in some individuals circumstances, but overall it's a good strategy given the makeup of their team.

Stuff is happening.

Both pieces of the Happ return have now been DFA'ed

They also released Jake Petricka and added Orelvis Martinez to the 60 man player pool.

Giles is back!

Kirk has arrived!

Also apparently Teoscar’s injury is mild and rehab is going well. I expect him back when ten days are up.

Sucks for Caleb Joseph, he seems like the ultimate team mate.

Kirk is 5'8" and 265 lbs. What is the scouting report on him?

He's got a great hit tool. He has a good eye like Biggio, great bat to ball abilities so he doesn't strike out much. In fact, he actually walks more than he K's. He's got a little bit of pop in his bat too.

Defense is a work in progress.

He was supposed to move up to AA this year, and I imagine if he had raked there he might have been a late season call up, or at least gotten moved up to AAA and then been on track for a 2021 MBL arrival at some point.

He has never played AA yet though because of COVID, so it'll be interesting to see what happens. He must have been doing really well at the Jays training facility against good pitching for them to make this move IMO.

jumping straight from A ball to the bigs, with respect to the pitching he will face, is extremely difficult

Indeed. Like I said, he's been facing AA-AAA-MLB pitching at the training facility, and he must be showing pretty well for the Jays to do this IMO.

For sure. But I still think fans' expectations should be set at zero for his first taste of the bigs though.

Jays pitcher starts the game with 3 straight balls... sounds about right

Edit: then totally redeems himself!

Got lucky there, Conforto should have had that one.

deGrom is just sick. Effortless 100-101mph over and over again.
