Yeah even though they sometimes irk me, I do find myself enjoying posts from users like blaster, stang, and help me lord even whiteout (mostly cause its hilarious when he freaks out). Except I don't gloat about passing the Flames. Flames have consistently made the play-offs for the past 3 - 5 years. Do the Canucks have that potential? Sure. Also have the potential to go the way of Edmonton. But as a Canucks fan why wouldn't I be happy? We have a center who looks to be better than our MVP Captain #1 center from the last decade. For the first time in the team history we appear to have a bonafide #1 dman. We just got within a game of the WCF after five years of sucktitude. I'm allowed to be happy about that.

It’s like you are oblivious to the fact that other posters don’t want to come onto a Flames forum and see rival fans celebrating their wins after the Flames crashed out. Yes, I don’t think this should be a place for other fans to post on to. I believe it should be for Flames fans as there are more than enough forums for Canuck/Oilers fans to use and they would never allow other fans to post onto their forums. I’ll leave it at that and will just go ahead and block users I don’t want to see post as I get the feeling I’m in the minority here.

Shorter season, shorter contracts and shorter shelf life for NFL players in general? That could be a factor in them not caring as much where they play.

Of course also a more national league and so franchise value and prestige not tied to the city so much.

But it’s not like Vegas can go and sign everyone either. And are hockey players truly leaving meaningful money on the table to make such decisions?

I've gloated about passing the Oilers. I've talked about going deeper in the play-offs than the Flames. Hell, I've even said the Canucks top end talent is better than the Flames top end talent. Never said we'd passed them them.

You sound miserable, lighten up because life is short.

The Canuck played terrible for the entire series yet still inspiring for their fan base. They didn’t deserve to win and the better team won.

It was certainly an exciting story line for fans (and haters). Not sure why you have to be miserable along the way. If you don’t like certain posters, skip over them.

Any forum on any topic that doesn't have opposing views is just a meaningless circle jerk, what would be the point of turning CP into a Flames version of ############?

I have learnt more about hockey from watching two opposed posters going at it here than I would from a hundred HNIC hot stoves and that's what makes CP the best hockey forum by far, debate is the crucible that burns off the dross
