Horvat has turned into a great leader, Demko looks great and Pettersson + Hughes look like they’ll be true franchise altering players. I look forward to hating, loathing and despising this franchise for years to come.
What about the 1994 version?

Fellas. Get on the master plan.

Calgary loses to the eventual western conference finalist (Dallas) who loses to Vancouver, who beat expansion primadonnas Vegas.

Vancouver then loses to the historic Islanders in game 7 of the cup final.

Riots ensue. We all celebrate.

Funny bc I see the exact opposite. Ride the hot goalie and bet the house, the car and the kids education. Lehner let’s in more weak goals and canuckleheads win going away.

I have $10 on the Canucks tonight and $15 on the Isles tomorrow.

If NYI and VAN both win, I'm up $45.

If NYI wins and VAN loses, I'm up $20.

If VAN wins and NYI loses, I'm up 40 cents.

If they both lose, I'm down $25.

3/4 odds to be up after tomorrow. But I guarantee I'm losing both.

All the pressure is on Vegas for being the favorite, but especially because the blew a 3-1 series lead.

Vancouver playing with house money and will be totally loose.

This is bad news for Flames fans. I got a bad feeling about this.

It will also be a sibling rivalry with the Benn brothers. That is a repeat from 1994 with the Courtnall brothers.

Well. This game is going as expected. Vegas is going to have to try and fluke one passed Demko and hope for a shutout. This is unreal goaltending.

All Vegas to start this game, with Demko standing on his head already. If Vegas can throw 40+ shots at him again tonight, hopefully he'll finally get tired enough that he'll let in a goal or two.

Demko is doing what Dryden and Roy did in their rookie playoff years.

Vegas just dominant thus far. Controlling the puck and playing physical. Which of course means they'll probably be down 1-0 at the end of the period.

Demko has already stopped two clear goals. It's amazing how much better Vegas is as a team. Vancouver really needs to stop just chipping the puck out and chipping the puck in, they never actually get it. Like their rate of success on puck recoveries from dump-ins is actually worse than if you just tried to straight up walk the d-men each time.

Shots 11-2 for Vegas. You'd think the dam would burst eventually.

We have seen goaltenders steal series before but this is next level. I can’t recall ever seeing a team win a series in this manner but that’s exactly what’s going to happen. Outplayed by a Grand Canyon sized margin but the stars are aligning for the Canucks.

I’ve seen enough of Vancouver. This is a bad team being carried by outstanding goaltending. That usually isn’t a recipe for success.

It’s astonishing they’ve lasted this long and might last longer.
