If it is a record turnout Trump will still do those things. There is no scenario where Trump loses where what you posted does not happen. He will not go quietly.

Technically, they didn't win the popular vote either.
In our multi-party system, the most you can usually hope for is to get the plurality of votes,.

Yeah I haven't been listing to their (or many) podcasts lately so not sure what's going on in detail with their model. Back up to 71% today, I think the message that even a 10% advantage nationally doesn't translate into a done deal is one Dems need as a constant reminder.

I think the point was just that under our Westminster system whoever gets the most votes doesn’t necessarily get to form government. It isn’t common for a party to get fewer votes and win more seats but it does happen sometimes. I don’t think it’s a good thing in general as it can reflect an imbalance in the democratic power of certain geographic voting blocs. In the US the issue arises from the over representation of rural areas as a result of the electoral college. The causes are different in Canada but it’s a similar principle.
With that said I think if Biden wins by 10 points he wins the electoral college in a landslide. If he is really up 10 points then even Georgia and Texas might be on the table. The problem arises where he is up by around 2%, which is what happened with Clinton in 2016.

538 moved Biden from slightly favoured to now favoured, and at 71% in their forecast.
Thankfully it seems the lawlessness and rioting isn't affecting the polling too much. Bidens messaging is good too, calling out the violence but not ####ting on BLM specifically

Can we just bury it in the Intellectual Dark Web thread instead?
Also I wonder how Saad got a Peterson quote for the cover when he's basically been a vegetable for the last 6 months.

Jordan as a vegetable is still above the average iq of the majority of social scientists.
I placed this in here because it’s very politically driven. People are blinded by msm on here.

Meh. No thanks. I read the synopsis and honestly that sounds ... terrible.
I mean, it was fun when people took Jordan Peterson and his minions seriously for about 10 minutes last year but to release a book now that suggests it is “progressive safe zones” are what is killing critical thinking in the West when one of the major political parties in the US is literally welcoming conspiracy theorists and kooks into their tent and trying to gaslight a global pandemic and a systemic issue with racially motivated violence by cops out of existence, I think we can leave “progressive safe zones” (whatever THOSE are) alone for a little while.
These people are just trying to make a buck off of disenchanted right wingers and “men’s rights” types. But if Trumpism has taught us anything it’s that a liberal society can’t just let illiberal ideas clothe themselves in pseudo-intellectual bafflegab and then give their proponents a seat at the table of discourse in the name of being “open minded.” It’s time to call Jordan Peterson and his minions out: they aren’t serious intellectuals.

None of what you just said makes any sense. You have no evidence to back up those claims, those are based off of feelings.

Not trying to slag the Washington Post, but this was the sub-headline to an online article:
"The 2020 election will come down to two important questions: Who actually votes, and who do they vote for."
I am not a political science talking guy, but I think that holds true for all elections!

Just watched Biden's Kenosha town hall. He was very quiet and soft-spoken, even whispering at times, and I'm not sure if that was a conscious choice to come off as kind and thoughtful or if he's just on power saver mode.
I really do think he comes across as just... old and tired. Old, tired Biden is still about a thousand times better than loud, boisterous Trump, but it just doesn't seem like the ideal energy to be communicating to voters.
... Also someone needs to tell the pastor of the church they're holding the event at that when you get a new suit you need to take the tag off the sleeve.
