They then used the surplus of picks at the next two drafts to get Schenn and ROR.

Armstrong looks like a genius now.
Proactive management leading to a Stanley Cup...how about that?

There are at least 6 players in this game that are better than any flame. That doesn't make me feel great

BashCalgaryPuck

back to the game

Markstrom makes a billion saves and then the Canucks get three fluke goals

Yeah no kidding.

What's frustrating is that Treliving tried to do something sort of like that last off season by dealing 1 year of Brodie for 3 years of Kadri. He got thwarted by the POS and his NTC though and now we'll probably watch Brodie walk away for jack squat.

Markstrom is kinda good. Game probably should have been about 5-1 at one point but he held down the fort. He's made some incredible saves so far tonight.

I would offer him big money...worst case it forces the Canucks to match. Canucks wouldn't make the playoffs without him

I bet he likes money better...especially since he probably won't be playing in Vancouver anytime soon either way

Canucks are playing a solid game, and fought back from being down by 2 goals.

Unlike the Flames they don’t try to sit on a lead. Going for it. And now they have a power play.

It wasn't very solid until the latter half of the second period. It was all Blues, and Markstrom stood on his head with some ten bell saves. Could have easily been 5-1 up until that point.

Yeah, not to mention the Canucks goals were pretty fortunate to say the least

Why is Quinn Hughes so good? Amazing. As a small d-man I would assume he'd disappear in the playoffs against a physical blues team. Not the case.
I am quite impressed by the canucks. I was sure the blues would take the series in 5 or 6. Guys like Motte and Virtanen are stepping up in this game, not just petterson and hughes. JT Miller has been good.
After game 4 I thought STL would take the game to the canucks. The canucks are responding. Flames take note.

I can't really cheer for the canucks. But this year's iteration has no Bieksa/Keslier/Burrows/Kassian/Lapierre types at least.

I truly dislike Perron so not sure who I want to win here. Cheer for 7 games of good hockey?

A win is a win and the effort level and team buy in is exactly what the flames are missing.

But hey we love our coaches that reward the lazy disinterested players

That JT Miller pickup paying dividends for Van. Liked the trade at the time.
