That goal in the last seconds of the first is a heartbreaker for Canuck fans. Got by Edler way too easy and Markstrom shouldn't have let that in on the wrap.

About halfway through the first, the shots were 7-2 for Vancouver. Now, they're 21-13 for the Blues.

That second goal was a complete back breaker. Completely swung momentum.

Markstrom has made some great saves too. If not, it would look like a repeat of the Colorado-Arizona game from earlier.

Imagine having a decent team but not quite good enough with less than ideal C depth, and then in back to back off seasons landing Schenn and ROR (as well as Bozak for depth).

Too bad Tre got beaten to the punch twice by Armstrong.

They're also kind of getting screwed by the refs. But I don't think it matters, they're getting dominated either way.

Nucks sneak one under Allen. 3-2.

Markstrom has made several 5 alarm saves this period.

It could easily be 6-2, but he is giving his team a chance

Also drafting Robert Thomas. Kid is a stud.

Pettersson is so damn fun to watch. Really talented kid and he’s not afraid to take some pain to make a play.

I would bet Robert Thomas ends up being an all star at some point.

Virtanen scores a nice one... gotta give Green credit for bumping him up to that line.

Funny you should mention that. The Blues drafted Thomas with their own pick at the same draft they traded two 1sts to Philly for Brayden Schenn.

They were able to do that because despite being a competitive 90+ point team they still sold at back to back deadlines. They dealt Shattenkirk to the Caps at the 2017 deadline, and Stastny to the Jets at the 2018 deadline.

They then used the surplus of picks at the next two drafts to get Schenn and ROR.

Armstrong looks like a genius now.

That was a bad goal on Allen. Too bad Virtanen scored it. He seems like such a little twerp.

Oh man, Edler takes a skate to the face. Yikes. Hard to look at that.
