That's pretty short sighted, and for such a small group with little influence, leaves them open to getting crushed if they try bull#### like this. If they want to get more progressive issues on the agenda, they need to work the system. Primary challenges are just bad ideas and indicative of a party that is not progressive and demands loyalty to a single perspective.
How is it short-sighted? They've picked up a number of wins so far and the progressives who have been elected in that manner are some of the most popular members of congress among you Democrats. Waiting to make changes within the system while the overton window continues to shift right is a fool's errand.

I love Bernie Bros. Always willing to hold their breath until they are blue in the face or until someone gives them what they want. But they are always the first to bitch and complain after throwing their vote away and going against their own interests. And don't give me any #### about Biden not representing your values/interests and then going and voting Libertarian. How can anyone claim to be a "progressive" then leap three or four positions to the right in the political spectrum? Craziness amplified.
Do you honestly think I'm speaking from a first-person perspective? Like I thought it was pretty freaking obvious that I'm speaking about hypothetical voters who will make that jump as opposed to myself.
There are plenty of Bernie supporters who (much like Trump supporters do) see Bernie as an outsider who can upset the applecart a bit. They really don't have a political ideology beyond that, and that's why they usually end up staying home or voting third party. I'd imagine this applies to many Yang supporters, too.
I'm worried about Billie Eilish at the DNC tonight. She's a bit moody. And it's quite possible she'll sing about killing Trump with his tie while burning his wardrobe in the tub and we'll never hear her again.

Is that in Milwaukee? Security Perimeter? No one is really there for the DNC.
It's being produced from Milwaukee, so there are people there, but they're likely just the behind-the-scenes people.
From Wikipedia:

While being a largely virtual convention, it is officially centered at the Wisconsin Center, which is where its production is headquartered, where its roll call will be directed from, and where a limited number of speeches (primarily those by Wisconsin politicians) are being staged.

Man, listening to Obama speak, I remember again what it's like to hear a real orator with intelligence, conviction, empathy, integrity, and vision.
That moldy pile of baboon crud currently occupying the White House can only dream of having those qualities. Hopefully he's out in November and America begins to repair itself in the quickest possible way.

That was a fantastic speech and no surprise Obama hit it out of the park. Very inspiring. He's so good at calling Americans to action in an inclusive and encouraging way.
Powerful speech by Obama tonight as usual. Trump is already in meltdown mode, rage tweeting in all-caps of course. His aides might want to check on him tonight, as I think his head might actually explode.
I can't say I always agreed with Obama, but even when I didn't, he was usually a joy to listen to. Not just because he is a gifted speaker, which of course he is, but because it sounds like he actually believes in what he is saying.
Maybe he is just a better liar than most politicians (coughJustincough), but whatever his flaws and mistakes, I believe he is a very good man who tried to what he thought best for his country.
For the first time, I sensed some anger behind his words. Hopefully this means the kid gloves are off, and we see a full court press by the Obamas to save a decent vision of that troubled little country down there.

I wonder if he'll come out of retirement and be Biden's secretary of state!
US foreign affairs needs him
