Thanks to a shorty and a more efficient PP they kept the score even. In the last half of the game they chased, had no flow , and could not recover.

That’s a fact. Lots of criticism can stem from it.

Stats weenie dominated 5-5 isn’t one of them.

I will point out that I believe there is a difference between someone's computer being a few seconds ahead of CP's server time and someone posting five full minutes before the server turns to midnight just to be first. I do know there have been people who have been punished for starting GDTs before it hit the game day. I don't think anyone wants that to be repeated.

I am going to guess not all of our computers, phones, tablets, and watches are on the same time. I am further going to guess that when someone hits send there is not always the same time delay between when the post is sent and when CP's server registers the post.

You jumped the gun on the GDT and people implied it was bad karma.

We make a million little jokes to try and get good karma. Its the playoffs. The players have superstitions, we have superstitions, its just fun.

If anything, you should be thankful the Flames lost or it would have been made absolutely mandatory that you make GDTs and post them exactly 5 minutes early until the Magic wears off!

Can someone explain why you would leave Lindholm out there for a 2:17 shift late in a one goal game. He did not have the strength to shoot the puck out. Ward is at fault for this. No one else. Poor coaching for sure...

I would love to hear the players and coach talk about what they have to do better. All I keep hearing is "we played a great game."

Sorry man, I didn't see anyone jumping after the Fonz after he started his thread early. I'm sick of the damn hypocrisy and all the repeated little attacks from squiggs in dozens of threads here. Do you absolutely need to be the OP? Is there anything wrong with posting all that you've written in the 2nd, 3rd or 4th post of the GDT? Other people have adjusted, but not you?

And where is the line? 5 minutes is okay with you because you say so but not anyone else? Where does it eventually stop? 10 minutes? a half hour? a full day before the game day?

I am impressed by the fact that Forbert was a -3, with third pairing minutes, during a game in which the Flames spent a period on the PK.

The rest of the team was fine in comparison.
Not much else to complain about, really.

Are we really up in arms over when the GDT is made?? Who fn cares if it is done early. God forbid there should be more time to discuss the upcoming match. There are entirely too many posters trying to find any reason on here to get up in arms. Relax, it is just a game. It is just a message board. We are all Flames fan here (ok, most of us), why sweat the little things?

Great games from Bennett and Brodie. Johnny's best game by a large margin, and Monahan's best of the series. So that's encouraging.

Lucic just keeps doing his job.

Tough game for some of the D, but I think that stems from the team standing around in their own zone, letting the Stars come at them. As someone said, it's like Hartley hockey, except without the stretch pass. If we were stretching out their D and counter-attacking, I could live with it. But just standing there is useless. And frustrating to watch.

If Tkachuk remains out, need to move Lindholm to Backlund’s line, have to have more than one line with the ability to cycle, and eat zone time.

Peter's punishing and serious approach didn't help them bounce back in the last series. You dont want the team slumping and down on themselves right now, it doesn't help them bounce back or gain/regain confidence.

I'm going to trust in Ward's upbeat and positives-focused approach.

Confidence grows with praise.

He did mention the biggest thing, which was discipline. The play definitely isn't tilted the way it was without that penalty parade.

It's funny how you say this but then people get mad when I start any and all news threads because sureLoss absolutely has to be the OP of them. Nothing at all against sureLoss either, they do a terrific job. But I can't count how many times I've been told to leave the news exclusively to them.

I don't want GDTs to be exclusive to me. In fact I don't ever want to post another ever again after all this BS.

Anyway that's enough on this topic, I think.

Frustrating, thought the Flames had the 3 best scoring chances in OT.

Johnny in the slot from a great Rasmus pass, Rieder with the broken stick empty net onetimer, and Dube in close probably had the pass to Bennett backdoor unfortunately.

All I'll say is this. This flames team has built up a lot of negativity, with the year over year inconcistentcy, then the complete embarrassment of a performance last year.

Fan's have lived thru the full cycle of being garbage, rebuilding, and this is the absolute prime Time for the core. There aren't any bluechippers coming. The youth are getting their $ and in their primes, and our primary vets are in the last year's of their prime.

This team doesn't have a lot of blind faith at this point. It's a smart fan base that can see whether the rebuild has been successful in building a contender or if they top out as a mediocre team.

As such, there's less patience, and more cynism/skeptisicm even compared to last year.

Anyways, hopefully the flames can win the next game. This is definitely a winnable series, heck they were a few seconds away from being up 3-1 somehow.

I probably wasn't targeting you, I don't know the posts that I'm talking about have blurred into one big ball of stuff.


I'm all about criticizing the team for poor efforts, that's natural and that's being a fan, its gone so far over the top in terms of negative. People with the series over BS, or ripping down the group of players after a loss that's not based on their play but a feel of long term hatred or bias against them.


Then there's the group that comes on and throws insults at other members of this board for not climbing on board with their hatred and rage.


The Flames fan base is one of the only fanbases that almost mourns their fandom instead of celebrating it.


the whole for the told you so crowd, the I hate these specific players, your a homer because your not blasting then and seeing my brilliance has become annoying and almost makes threads un readable.


Frankly can we not do funeral until the series is over, not rip the team apart until the autopsy is performed and not distribute the assets until the will is probated.


Go ahead criticize the teams effort and player efforts and mistakes, but its gotten so over the top over the last few years that these discussion threads teeter dangerously close to this sucks to read through it territory.
