That’s the story.
It’s ok to say the Stars earned it, the flames were undisciplined, the coaches failed to adjust or the Flames players should have managed better.
To say the Stars dominated and are far and away the better team is dumb.

The Flames scored more goals on special teams than Dallas (3 vs 2).
5v5, the Stars, once again, completely dominated the Flames

Now they're 1-1 with your thread 5 minutes before the game day with the latter being a loss

I will have to go back and search all of my thanked posts. Do you have a complete list of them you could DM me? We used to have that functionality here, but it slowed down the server, so it was removed.
I will point out that I believe there is a difference between someone's computer being a few seconds ahead of CP's server time and someone posting five full minutes before the server turns to midnight just to be first. I do know there have been people who have been punished for starting GDTs before it hit the game day. I don't think anyone wants that to be repeated.
I am going to guess not all of our computers, phones, tablets, and watches are on the same time. I am further going to guess that when someone hits send there is not always the same time delay between when the post is sent and when CP's server registers the post.

Come on...we're Flames fans. Have you ever known the Flames to do anything the easy way?
We won the West last year and we got bounced.
This is a team that has to scratch and claw for everything.

Here's another theory, squiggs: who cares? Five minutes, one minute, big deal. I would appreciate if you just put me on ignore so you would stop taking over threads with your repeated snarky attacks. And I remember when that Game 1 GDT was posted... it wasn't a few seconds before midnight. It was the full minute.
Anyway. Please, for the love of god, stop it.

I'm sure I'm part of the group being targeted here.
All I'll say is this. This flames team has built up a lot of negativity, with the year over year inconcistentcy, then the complete embarrassment of a performance last year.
Fan's have lived thru the full cycle of being garbage, rebuilding, and this is the absolute prime Time for the core. There aren't any bluechippers coming. The youth are getting their $ and in their primes, and our primary vets are in the last year's of their prime.
This team doesn't have a lot of blind faith at this point. It's a smart fan base that can see whether the rebuild has been successful in building a contender or if they top out as a mediocre team.
As such, there's less patience, and more cynism/skeptisicm even compared to last year.
Anyways, hopefully the flames can win the next game. This is definitely a winnable series, heck they were a few seconds away from being up 3-1 somehow.

Btw, I feel like we could mention Miro Heiskanen more. The kid played almost half the game, 35 minutes, and was fantastic in both ends of the ice. When the ice feels like it's tilting towards our end, it's usually been with Heiskanen on the ice.
Sure he plays for the other team, but hot patootie that kid can play.

Blatant infraction on I think mangi or dube with three minutes left, distinctive compared to the last five in a row called on the flames and they looked the other way.
Dallas should've been penalty killing in the final minutes.
The overall play aside, that's a failure by the guys in stripes and even if the team was sputtering late, the Flames probably win if the officals are doing their job even half-adequately in the third.
They also absolutely turned the momentum at multiple points with non calls against the grain of the play. However, that's on the flames to not let it affect them.

One missed call that stands out for me is right before the Gio penalty when Dube had his stick clearly held and nothing was called.
Watching these morons trying to play a part in the outcome of the game really makes watching games a chore.

He's a stud.
Best hockey player on either team. By a fair margin.

He's incredible. I go back and forth between thinking, "what the hell are they doing not having him on the first power play unit, he's clearly more dangerous than Klingberg", and thinking, "Actually, just by putting him on PP2, they make that unit twice as dangerous, so maybe it's effective minute management."
Between Heiskanen, Makar, Hughes and Dahlin, it seems pretty clear who the league's premier defensemen are going to be in the near future. I'm sure someone else will work their way into that conversation as well. Could be Fox. Better not be Bowen Byram. The Avs are good enough as it is. EDIT: Forgot Thomas Chabot.

Yeah I sure did. I wrote a decently long post and I wanted it to be the GDT. I had prepared a GDT for Game 1 but it was beaten at the stroke of 11:59 by a three-word post with zero information about the game.
I've already responded to one private message today requesting I stop making GDTs so early and I would be happy to, as long as the GDTs that are created are of quality and contain all the appropriate information about the game in the first post. Often i prepare graphics full of information about the game that give people a ton of information all in the first post of the thread. I think that's a good thing. But maybe simply saying "huge 2 points" suffices just as much?
Honestly at this point I would be perfectly content with never creating another thread for this board seeing how much scrutiny certain posters are content to examine everything I say with. Sorry, but I'm so ####ing tired of it.

I still have zero idea how they call the Talbot Penalty. Comeau skated through the crease and caught his stick way before the wraparound chance.

Hoping for Tkachuks vocal presence on the bench for Tuesday.
He fires them up and keeps them on their toes. It is missed.

Flames never got their footing after the 5 straight penalty calls. Just gassed them.

Yeah, that was horribly bad. If he just sticks his stick out for no reason it's a penalty. It was on a save attempt though. Just ridiculous.
