Scoring Winger

They were bad in front of him. Really bad. The Hawks ran them out of the rink. Yeah, he messed up on the Strome goal, but attributing the loss to Edmonton goaltending is just a bad take.

There are many reasons Edmonton lost. But having some fun around Mike Smith is just something people do around here. He’s not the only reason they lost, but he certainly did nothing to help them win.
Even in victory, he desires the puck more than his d-men and often competes with them for breakouts. Half the time it confuses his d-men, the other half he fumbles the puck. For a goaltender he’s a good puck handler, which still puts him dead last on his teams roster for stick handling skills.
It’s just fun to watch now that he’s not wearing a Flames jersey.

I'm glad the Oilers scored a couple more to make the scoreboard more flattering. Maybe they will all think that Smith was the problem too.

Lol. Aren't they known to have some of the best ice in the league? Hilarious that they would try to use that as an excuse.

It's not a bad take. It's not the full story either. Smith was not good and since he played for us a season ago we love to relish in his failure.

First real hockey in 4 months and it was a pure joy from start to finish, it was 2015 Hawks versus 2015 Oilers out there

The 2nd most exciting play in hockey?
When Mike Smith plays the puck.
The most exciting play?
What happens next.

Then Flyers win the lottery, one number off from one in the Oilers set. Then Flyers send us #1 for Gaudreau.

The Flyers can't win the lottery. They're in the top-4 in the East.

I don't think the Flyers can win the lottery? They're in the seeding round, not the qualifiers.

Well that was fun.
I thought McDavid was just coasting for this one - only playing at about 60%.

He only plays at 100% if they're on the PP. The rest of the time he's one of the laziest players I've seen. Just floating around at the opposing team's blue line waiting for a breakaway pass.

If the Oilers end up winning the lottery, I couldn't care less. Their continued failures would be even funnier. In the unlikely event they achieve some modicum of success, it will be incredibly hollow and empty.
Since the cancelled season: 1OA x4, 3OA, 4OA, 6OA, 7OA, 8OA, 10OA x2
That's eleven top-10 picks in 13 years.
No matter how you slice it, I don't think any other team has had even half as many opportunities to draft that kind of talent?

So happy Smith isn’t a Flame anymore. Couldn’t stand that guy and it’s hilarious seeing him flounder with the Oilers today.

That looked like a team that read all the press clippings and all they had to do was show up.

Have the Oil fans started bitching that: "The 'Hawks shouldn't have even qualified for the playoffs." yet?
