3-2. Still one game left with the Nats

Big Nate takes the mound tomorrow and Scherzer goes for the Nats

Two games against the Nats, but they are Jays "home" games

You know, even with the issues the boys have, we are 3-2 and could have pretty easily been 5-0. I am seeing some nice growth from the team as a whole.

Is it Shulman and Buck all season or does Tabler pop in again for a 3 man booth?

3 and 2. Should be 4 and 1. Against tough teams.

Very good start, and lots of encouraging things going on. Number one on the list being that they are chasing fewer pitches. Number two being that they appear to have a pitching staff.

Totally agree with Buck and Dan - the talent is there, now they need to learn how to win.

One other thing... everyone talks about the talent of course, especially the big 4, but the other thing about this team is that they are FUN TO WATCH. They are a very likable group of guys and they really seem to enjoy each other and enjoy the game. It is so much more enjoyable to watch, as a fan, if you feel like the players are fans too and are also having fun

Obviously a bit of a homer opinion but in a short season i think the Jays could do something. The talent is there but inexperienced which I think would normally impact them over a long season. In a short season you can overcome that especially with the pitching depth they have now. Bullpen is a bit of a concern for me but that can sort itself out too as they get a few more innings.

I'm pretty excited to follow them this year and really excited for the next several years. I think this is a good ball club.

Short season it's a lot easier to overcome and with their improved plate approaches and depth in pitching, although bullpen is a small concern, I think they could easily be a playoff team.

All it takes this year is one good streak. Get on a roll, and it could be enough to carry you into the playoffs.

The Jays are nowhere near ready to challenge the best teams over 162 games, but they certainly have the ability to get on a hot streak that could last a few weeks and leave them in the top half of the league (which is all that's required).

They have been exciting too watch this season, so far.

I am really curious about their rotation going forward. I think Kay and Borucki can be solid back of the rotation type arms, and that isn't a knock on those guys as it is hard to find 5 reliable guys to go every 5 days. So if they can be a part of the rotation going forward add in Pearson and Ryu at the top, the Jays would just be looking for another #2 or #3 started for next year. I also think Simeon Woods-Richardson is close maybe a year or year and half away from being in that rotation as well. Add in Menoah, Zeuch and Kloffenstein and you got a few more guys to supplement the starting depth.

I also like the idea of using two starters in a piggyback situation so you don't have guys with lesser stuff going through the lineup too many times. If you can have two starters eat up 6-7 innings in a game it saves the bullpen. Maybe have Thornton and Borucki ready to go every 5th day, Thornton starts the game gives you 3-4 innings and Borucki can give you 2-3 innings. It's an effective way to eat up innings. I like that better than having an opener go 1-2 innings and then go to a starter.

Don’t get me wrong I’m not body shaming. I’m built for feed not for speed. However I have serious doubts about his potential.
At the end of his home run trot last night, Vladdy looked like he Needed a walker to get back to the dugout.

The guy is literally waddling around a major league diamond. Someone get the kid a private chef FFS.

Boooo

Lead of walk Hernandez should be running. Instead it's a DP.

Automated Umps can’t come soon enough. Obvious ball 4 by a pitcher struggling to find the strikezone, called a strike, Vladdy then pops out. Infuriating.
