I think we had a poster claim he had info that Dube tested positive. Not sure on the source.

So for anyone that tested positive, when is the earliest they could participate in the camp?

If Dube did indeed test positive, he is the type of player (young) that I'd think could benefit the most from as much preparation as possible.

Depends if they were asymptomatic or not.

Quote:
A person whose COVID-19 positive status has been confirmed shall remain in isolation, shall not exercise, and
shall not participate in any Club activity or have any contact (other than remotely) with any other personnel
for the duration of their isolation.

During such period, the person shall be in daily contact with and receive remote care from Club medical staff
or such other physicians as considered appropriate. A person whose initial test has been confirmed positive
shall remain in isolation until the following conditions have been satisfied:
a) For a person who was asymptomatic during the entire period of their isolation:
Test-Based Strategy:
• The person has tested negative after the administration of a RT-PCR test from at least two
consecutive, respiratory specimens, nasopharyngeal where feasible, collected ≥24 hours apart
for a total of two negative specimens (the “CDC Test-Based Strategy”); or
Time-Based Strategy:
• Alternatively, upon the passage of 10 days since the first positive test, providing the person has
remained asymptomatic during the entire period of their self-isolation,

b) For a person who was symptomatic at the time of testing, or who developed symptoms during the period
of isolation:
Test-Based Strategy:
• The person has tested negative twice on the basis of the CDC Test-Based Strategy after the
resolution of any fever (without use of fever-reducing medications) and has experienced
improvement in respiratory symptoms (e.g., cough, shortness of breath); or
Symptoms-Based Strategy:
• Alternatively, if the person has had no fever (without the use of fever-reducing medication) and
no respiratory symptoms for over 72 hours provided, however, that the person has been in selfisolation for a minimum of 10 days since the onset of the symptoms,
c) In addition, the Club Physician, its infectious disease expert, and any treating physician providing care to
the person conclude that the person no longer presents a risk of infection to others, and that it is
medically appropriate (given individual and local circumstances) to terminate the requirement for selfisolation, and
d) Finally, the termination of the isolation requirement must be consistent with applicable local public health
regulations or other requirements.

If I am reading this correctly, it sounds like Dube could return to practice earlier than the ten-day isolation period if he tests negative.

Assuming Backlund, Ryan, and Dube are healthy (and everyone else as it were), it'll be interesting who makes up the last few roster spots on F.

Rinaldo brings a big physical element that I think could change a series.
Rieder brings speed and an "elite penalty killer" as the coaching staff has referred to him as.
Czarnik is maybe the forgotten darkhorse, but he's managed to impress at both main camps the last 2 years and earn his way onto the team. He was playing well for the Flames before his high ankle sprain (on a line with Backlund and Tkachuk) and had scored in back to back games in fact. Then he was just a victim of the numbers once he went on his conditioning stint, but the thought from the media at the time seemed to be that once the trade deadline passed he'd get another recall.

I'd probably want the top 9 to look the same as it was when we were rolling.

Gaudreau - Monahan - Lindholm
Tkachuk - Backlund - Mangiapane
Dube - Ryan - Lucic

That 4th line is hard to pin down though. Janko had an abysmal year offensively, but we've seen in the past he has good offensive skills and instincts at times and can do some surprise damage offensively. So he might be the linchpin for that line as if he's an offensive option again then Bennett and Czarnik could make a sneaky 3B line.

But if Janko has hands of stone again, then may as well go with Bennett and Rinaldo for a crash and bang / wear and tear 4th line, or utilize Rieder as a PK specialist who just tries to catch a 3rd pair D sleeping maybe at even strength.

I won’t be surprised to see a 4th line of:

Bennett - Jankowski - Czarnik/Ruzicka

I’m hopeful Jankowski comes back to prove something. Ruzicka’s size could make him a surprise player, especially against the Jets.

Playoffs I don’t count Bennett out. I put him on the third line and am ready to shuffle him through the lineup, if he comes in with the spark I expect.

Yes.
This is the brief time when Bennett's star burns brightest.
I love these fleeting moments.

Lots of placeholders here with so many regulars still unable to join the main practice group.

But you can start to get an idea on what the team’s desired lines and pairings are with everyone together, which we’re guessing will be soon. #Flames
Valimaki on the right side or just put down as such?

They grooming him to play his offside? Kylington has more experience at it but is shown on LD..

I know it’s still early in camp so having a mixed bag is expected but makes one wonder and excited over the prospect of a future top 4:

Today is probably when everyone joins the first group.

If due to secondhand contact the players have to have four negative tests prior to joining the other players.

Will be interesting today.

I’m guessing they’ll keep Johnny by himself in the second group and bagskate him for two hours because he’s lazy and out of shape.

Or so I’ve heard...

No, I heard that he requested a trade and he was thinking of going to try out for the 76ers as a small center.

most importantly, a history of lax attention to fitness and nutrition is permanent, and it can only be assumed that he will still be scarfing skittles on a couch during non-game days 5 years from now, assuming that his organs don't explode from diabetes first.

I must say I'm worried about the long term effects of athletes getting Covid 19 even if they're asymptomatic. I've heard of some studies showing that even with a mild case, it can damage your lungs (scar tissue) among other organs.
I know no one really has all the data yet on how prevalent this is. But it would really suck to see any young promising players be damaged permanently due to this plague.
I know, trying not to overreact, but it is worrisome.
