Keller, Garland, Dvorak, Chychrun, and Hill are all Coyotes picks that turned out. Even Oliver Ekman-Larsson is a Coyotes pick who is younger than Turris.
3 of their top 4 scorers were drafted and developed in-house.
Garland and Dvorak weren't even first round picks.
Players like Turris, Strome, and Wheeler excelled after being traded from the Coyotes.
If anyone, the Coyotes are a team to buy-low from.

I'm not trading Gaudreau for them. Give me magic beans (draft picks) than already drafted Coyotes.
Just a gut instinct do not want any of their players.

Monahan, Gaudreau, Bennett
For
Dvorak, Keller, Schmaltz
Flames get a lot more long term security but give up the best 2 players in the deal. Would need to find a way to trade for Marner to reunite the Tkachuk-Dvorak-Marner line

The Flames take on a large amount of salary in that trade. Don't think it's worth it.

Long term yes but only $1.775 in actual cap.
Not sure I like the deal myself to be honest.

If we're trading Gaudreau/Monahan, it's in a trade with bonafide great prospects or high draft picks.
No safe trade to be younger and a little more cost controlled.
Go big or go home. Or do we just want to be a bubble team for the next 5 years?

As a side effect of a potential Gaudreau trade, I'm actually excited to see Monahan play without him. I think that he has another gear he hasn't needed to use with Johnny always carrying the puck.

honestly I think they'll do the conservative thing and try to stay competitive for as long as possible. We might shed Gaudreau, provided we sign Hall. Depending on how well that goes, they could do the same with Monahan the following year. I doubt they'll rebuild like Ottawa, major changes yes, rebuild no. Gaudreau will be bait for a C or RW...a proven NHLer or top 5 draft pick

I would do it if we weren't already short a top 4 defenseman. Needing to sign two with very limited cap space would be a dangerous game to play.

Help, save, whatever.

Jets are one of the dirtier teams in the NHL IMO.
Flames are a sneaky dirty team with Tkachuk out there.
I'm expecting a fun series. Very physical for sure.

Have you've been to Atlantic City in the winter? It's a summer home that he and his family enjoy, Craig Conroy spent his summers at his Manhattan beach home for 7 years before selling it in 2012

I don’t like that Coyote trade after sobering up this morning but I also am a big fan of the Eichel trade.

Yeah man. The years left on the deals indicate to me it would be a smart move. Eichel has more years left than JG and SM combined. The 10m is fair for what he brings. Over the last 100 games or so Eichel is starting to unlock his immense potential, he's looked like a franchise player in long stretches. JG and SM are finished products who aren't as good right now and have less term until UFA.
Personally I dont think Buffalo even considers JG+SM+1st. They will demand Tkachuk and Lindholm.
The coyote deal is exactly what I'm scared will happen. We need to concentrate our assets, not dilute them. Trading Gaudreau for a bunch of stuff smells a lot like another Phaneuf trade, dont care if the peices are younger if they are clear downgrades. Monahan is a much better player than Schmaltz and Keller is Gaudreau-lite. Hard pass.

Eichel probably becomes the best C in this franchise's history. What do you think you trade to aquire someone with that kind of potential? JG has 2 years left, SM has 3... Eichel has what 6 or 7? It's not a terrible trade when you dig a little deeper. You're getting the best player at the most valuable position in hockey. That's going to cost you, big time.

When you add 1 player, that makes almost as much as both of those players combined and produces significantly less, then throw in a first round pick on top of it is absolutely a terrible trade. Frankly, I can't understand how anyone can think otherwise. Because it's not even in the same universe as a fair deal.

2ho do you think would do better, Gaudreau and Monahan or Eichel and Hall?
Whenever you get a chance to add a true #1 center, you do it. They'll make other players better and you can always trade for better wingers.

I am surprised there are as many people opposed to the deal as there appears to be. Adding a franchise center at 23 years old along with the 6 years of term left on his deal. We can cap space to sign Hall and improve our forward Corp significantly. I think Eichel could score 100pts playing with Tkachuk.

Their with/without numbers suggest the absolute opposite.
