I'm honestly surprised there haven't been more deaths.

Well it’s about goddamn time. POC’s have been on edge for the last 150 years because the police don’t just want to kill them, they’ve been successful at actually killing them.
But yeah, hard not to sympathize with a bunch of racist murdering cops.
Kim Jong-un might have faked his death to identify the traitors in his inner circle earlier this month and it's probably not even in the top 10 biggest news stories of the year.

Chatting with friends and the amount of them openly trying to deflect from talking about this, or trying to change the subject, is so telling.
This is not a topic people are willing to talk about even in 2020. Which is exactly why this is and has always been something we NEED to talk about in 2020.

They are not all racist murderers. And I haven’t heard or spoken to anyone who doesn’t think the officers involved in killing George deserves less than murder charges.

Atlanta's chief of police...sure seems like a racist murdering cop for sure.
Some posters had civil war on their 2020 bingo card. I did. Gotta be close now.

And that's the madness of it all, because while all of the "civil war" theories had your average State Capital Raid dude with an AR as the ones involved, no one quite picked up on this. This is far more realistic.
This current crisis has hit minority communities far harder. Record unemployment, which again, is an effect felt more by urban, minority communities. These people have lost jobs, some permanently. Those same people now likely have no access to healthcare. Many of the people in these communities have likely lost everything in the last 2 months. No savings to begin with, now no jobs, debt has exploded (if they even have ways of accessing funds that way).
These are likely people who truly have nothing to lose, not like the Warrior Cosplayers who are demanding haircuts who clearly have enough disposable income to purchase expensive weapons. For these people, they have no other recourse. Their government has proven that it does not care to help them; if the last 150 years weren't enough information, the refusal to help the poor, the marginalized, etc through this crisis has added sparks to the always glowing embers of racism in this country. And then this killing just poured gasoline all over that.
I am so deeply, deeply ashamed of my country right now. I'm not a patriotic person at heart, but I'm not sure I've ever in my life been this disgusted to be an American.
