Well I said that, I was merely speculating on what weird wrinkles could occur. As of right now until we know more UFA's will be not under contract come July 1. How the league deals with that if the season goes past that date is interesting.

Me thinks they'd cancel the regular season and run with best of 5 games series, maybe even best of 3 series in the first and second rounds to finish the playoffs before July 1.

Norm!

Depending on how long this season goes, they just might take the four division leaders and run two rounds and that'll be it.

Lifetime Suspension

Word is that Hockey Canada will make an announcement tonight that sanctioned events, including junior A, B and minor hockey will be suspended until further notice.

The more I think about, the more I'm convinced that because Rudy Gobert was so dumb/foolish/ignorant and ended up testing positive for Covid-19, a lot of lives might be saved because of the response that it ultimately triggered (leagues suspending seasons, etc). Obviously there are other factors and decision makers involved, but it's events like this that can really get the ball rolling.
That's what I'm hoping for anyways.

This is pretty cool stuff among an ocean of crap the last week.
Quote:
With the NBA suspending its season indefinitely and closing the doors on its 28 arenas around the country for the foreseeable future with no games to be played, Cleveland Cavaliers star Kevin Love pledged $100,000 Thursday to aid arena workers displaced by the league's response to the coronavirus.
"My hope is that others will step up!!" Love told ESPN via text message.
Love's act of generosity echoes the joint statement released by the Cavs and their home arena, the Rocket Mortgage Fieldhouse, on Thursday when they vowed to develop "a compensation plan to continue paying our event staff and hourly workforce that is impacted with the changes to our regular event schedule."
