I was in elementary school during the 04 run. I remember most of it and was allowed to stay up later to see all the games. It must not be easy even all these years later to watch that game for Conroy and Gelinas... Sarich, not so much!

Just great memories of that Cup run and how electric the town was during the playoffs. I forgot about the lockout afterwards, which was a travesty for the Flames because it wasted one or more peak years for a lot of players on that team, especially for Iggy and Kipper. Like what that article said, nothing was the same after that lockout even though the Flames teams after the lockout continued to dominate their division for another few seasons before their downward spiral. Can't believe that 2004 was 15 years after the first Stanley Cup win and it's now 16 years and counting since we've made it back to the the Cup Finals!

That was a fun read, and still brings back the memories; good and bad.
Went with my dad to Tampa for game 7 and had a perfect line on Leopold's shot. It was in - until Khabi came over, somehow...

It was very interesting to see the players' opinions on calls and non-calls. Was also good to have Sarich there with his "other side" perspective.

Ugh, it still hurts. I think Game 6 hurt more though.
The atmosphere in the Dome was just so electric during that playoff run. Pretty amazing experience to be part of it.

Wait, we never lynched Kerry Fraser after that playoff run? Surprising

I remember being told by a non-hockey fan that the game 6 crowd chants of "We want the cup" were bad juju that caused the eventual loss. my argument was that being a goal away from the win meant that it was warranted, and the chant wasn't "We've got the cup" or anything dumb like that. still, the superstitious side of me gets a slight nagging feeling about it once in a while.

Some of you guys are really young.
I still remember (I think it was Simon) hitting the crossbar in Game 6 OT. "It was in" aside, the swing in the series was the BS non-call that led to the St-Louis goal. The difference of going on a PP in OT to a straight loss. Sarich even said it ffs.

I don't recall Simon hitting a cross bar in OT.
The closest chance was Marcus Nilson re-directing a pass on net that Khab got his shoulder on.
I don't think there was a post or cross bar in OT.
Niemo hit the cross bar in an overtime in an earlier round.

Yeah, no post in OT vs Tampa but Nieminen hit the post in double OT Game 6 vs Vancouver.
