They played off the rush like they used to and were rewarded. Not sure if that was always an option or if Ward got around to reviewing some game tape from last season but they are looking like the old Flames again.

No passengers once again tonight, and they moved the puck way faster. Flames played a gritty, hard-working but also fast and skilled game tonight. This is how the Flames can play.

They have the skill to compete with any team in the NHL. They also have the toughness to compete with any team in the NHL.

I do think their compete level is WAY higher than it has been for most of the season, and they are moving the puck faster than they have been all season it seems as well.

Would have been easy to 'roll over and die' with Giordano and Hamonic out of the line-up, but instead they rolled up their sleeves and they seem intent on showing us what they are made up of.

Also, screw Kane. I am so glad that he isn't a Flame. Can't stand that puke.

So who would still prefer a repeat of what Neal gave the team last year instead of what Lucic has given this year?

It IS possible for a team with a bad coach and/or a bad system to play well and win some games. But you know that.
Coaching and system have NOT been the reason for the putrid performance of many key players up until 2 games ago.

Commitment to effort and compete have been the problem, IMO.

Hopefully, the last 2 games are building blocks for a tremendous last part of the regular season.

I believe they can win the division....with the effort and compete levels of the last 2 games.

I don't think I've ever seen Gaudreau make such a huge effort to back check as he did on that power play, he actually caught up from behind the play to prevent a breakaway and eventually break up the play.

The D pairings seem to work so far. I hate that Gio and Hamonic are injured but they do look good.

Tons of chances again, Dell was almost chased.

Nice to see most of our scoring coming from the bottom six. And Rinaldo should be a regular on the fourth line.

Yeah said it before the game but I love how those pairings look on paper.

Didn't get to watch the game, how did they look? Specifically Hanifin-Andersson

I'm pretty sure that's exactly how everyone else feels about Tkachuk, but of course, he's ours...

3 more goals and its a career high, in way less games than any other season. In facts 5 is his top goal total in any pro league.
