Anything is possible although I’m not quite going with utterly fascinating. A year long massive drop in performance followed by a rebound seems unlikely. And I can come up with just as many arguments as to how becoming a father gives people energy and motivation they never knew they had.

But let’s be honest with ourselves. NHL players have been subjecting themselves to sleep deprivation for a long time, and it has nothing to do with newborns.
