Tkachuk drew 5 minor penalties in 2 incidents from Kassian. Tkachuk knows he has that caveman wrapped around his finger.
Coach Tippett: I wish Kassian just took a number instead of costing his team an important game.
Kassian: Hurr durr, I'd do it again too!
Teammates: He's the heart and soul of this team and city! Kill the turtle!
Writers: All hail Zack! Do it again! Kill the turtle!
Tippett: No, wait. Wait! That's...... #### me. They weren't kidding about the water.
Absolutely no one:
Draisaitl: You know what I'm gonna say it. I wouldn't even skate on the same ice as him at the ASG! I could've said nothing but being petty is fun and empowering here.
Writers: Yes! Preach Dr. Drai! You know what, I bet Calgary is disappointed in him for his awful attack on St Kass, let's post it as insider knowledge!
Treliving: Yeah...no. You're idiots.
Writers: ......
re-up St. Kass! 4 x 4!
CP: *munching popcorn*

It's also worth pointing out again that after the only hit Tkachuk has been suspended for (on Doughty), he dropped the gloves with 2 Kings players in their rematch.

What's wrong with saying that most neutral observers are taking Kassian's side?
Flames fans themselves love to see players on their team get retribution.
Earlier on this season when Lucic dropped Sherwood with a gloved punch the fans that celebrated it far outweighed the ones that called Lucic out on those actions.
There certainly wasn't an ongoing debate on CP with strong opponents of the "code" and there wasn't any real defense of Sherwood's actions despite poking the goalie being a common hockey play that is rarely penalized.
The circling of the wagons around Tkachuk is an emotional response that wouldn't happen if this was two neutral teams involved.
You're just replying by doing the same thing.
You don't know the majority of "thought" when it came to the Lucic incident. You don't know how Calgary fans would react if it was two neutral teams.
I can guess that they'd see a horse collar for what it was though.
I've already called the hits predatory (but clean), so I get Kassian's anger. He went too far, and got suspended.

He tried it fight Muzzin and Jake skated away and Tkachuk got a penalty for it.
"the code"
I can’t recall who told it. Burke I believe. But apparently it was arranged for Tkachuk to fight McNabb pre game and that when Tkachuk got to the line he mistook the players hence why Muzzin skated off and Tkachuk later fought McNabb.
What is wrong with a predatory hit if it’s clean? There is nothing wrong with singling a guy out and rocking him all game as long as you stay within the rules.
Ferland’s hits on Bieksa we’re all predatory and clean and everyone loved it.

I guess it's wrong for Tkachuk to pick on someone that is clearly a imbecile.

Especially when they make it so easy. Kassian can't skate and handle the puck with his head up and keeps it down even after making a play.
He has no awareness playing an offensive roll. He belongs on the 4th line where he can create energy and create a ruckus.

First time that Zach steps on the ice, Lucic should go over the boards with instructions to run him over with extreme prejudice and then stand over him and say "Here I am, face to face, want to do something about it"
Then when Zach the coward slinks off, the next time he comes on the ice Rinaldo runs him over and stands over him and says "Here I am face to face, come on punk, take your shot"
Then when he cries off the next time he comes on the ice have Bennett come over the boards and rock him and stand face to face with him and ask him "If he's going to cry"
Hit the thug about 50 times that game. so the Stat line reads Flames hits 50 Oiler hits 4 and all of the Flames hits are on Kassian, oh and a good solid clean nasty hit on McAvi for good measure.
Oh and in the pregame warmup all of the Flames should wear number 19 jersey's.

Haha, I like the idea about everyone else hitting him hard, aside from Tkachuk. Especially Bennett having one of those games (that I'm sure we all wish we saw a little more often) where he can basically physically pick apart the whole other team single-handedly, then beat the living hell out of a much bigger opponent who's had enough. Haven't had a Bennett Beat-down for a while. Maybe players have figured it out.
In my opinion every single Flame should play the game the same way they played the last one. If Kassian has his head down, light him up. It's his problem if he can't control himself afterwards, and I hope he costs them the game (again) after getting creamed by Tkachuk (again).
I am also 100% OK with the Oilers doing it to Tkachuk (or anyone else for that matter). If one of our guys can't hockey with their head up and gets blown up, too bad so sad. Play the game. Be better next time.
Now that being said, if it's a cheap shot like Kassian is prone to deliver, that's a different story. If he throws a cheap shot with the intention to injure someone I expect Lucic to cave his face in. If Draisaitl decides to slewfoot someone, I fully expect every single oiler fan defending that neanderthal Kassian to understand that LD had his front teeth removed because of the "code" or whatever nonsense they are calling it these days. That's about the only time I condone fighting in this league.
Play within the rules and everyone wins, including the fans. Start crossing that line and IMO we might as well watch WWE.

So who does Johnny fight when he throws a slew foot?
“ not helping or supporting either side in a conflict, disagreement, etc.; impartial.”
“an impartial or unbiased country, organization or person.”
Only one party , the party that was completely neutral, had legal jurisdiction to investigate, rule and provide culpability and sanctions relating to said episode(s) and participants.
NHL Player Safety Department is that party.
Their decision and statement completely cleared Tkachuk and deemed Kassian’s actions illegal and suspended him for 2 games.
