You clearly don't have experience with him in past threads. It's kind of hard to not read a tidal wave.

Clearly? No
Though, I don't dive deep into the political threads like many of you, I've come across him before -- and am pals with another poster who knows him personally.

Nik, engage the fallacies then. (granted you likely have)

Apparently your google is different than mine

Namu Lake is in BC and no mention of Iranian Lithium

I think you're taking about Namak lake just south of Tehran which they claimed to have rich deposits of many minerals but I believe it turned out to be mostly Magnesium,Halite and Potassium but very little Lithium as they first thought or at least claimed.

Lithium is a big interest to me, 60% of my stocks are Lithium stocks

To be fair to NW, he was being egged on by AFC's incessant dubious comparison to Israel.

Anyways to get this back on topic, Iran is now responding by making random arrests. This reminds me of when the Saudis randomly arrested a bunch of dissident after they got caught executing the journalist in Turkey.

Quote:
In a televised speech, President Rouhani said the judiciary would assemble a special court with a high-ranking judge and tens of experts to oversee the probe.

"This will not be a regular and usual case. The whole world will be watching this court," he added.

Mr Rouhani also stressed that Wednesday's "tragic event" should not be blamed on one individual.

"It's not only the person who pulled the trigger, but also others who are responsible," he said.

Chances are they'll try them and shoot them over the next couple of days, so when the investigates ask to talk to the people that actually shot the plane down, we'll get the "We already delivered justice to them"

There really is no great path here. Any time pressure is exerted on the Ayatollahs they just turn around and put that pressure on their own innocent citizens or political rivals. If economic sanctions are placed on Iran, the population starves. If an inquiry is called for, then a bunch of dissidents pay the price.

He would take credit I'm sure, but the Iranian people have been protesting against their government long before Trump was on the scene.

Knowing that of course makes his go ahead to kill Soleimani a very good move.

Iran shooting down the plane took it even further.

The media and the left are literally tripping over themselves trying to make it seem like it was a terrible move, while the Iranian people are making all of them look like complete fools.

Stoke the fire, stoke the fire. True change is only accomplished from within.

But good thing we are stopping Trump from invading the country....

Video shown on CTV news shows it was two missiles that hit the jetliner not one. The first missile hits then a few seconds later a second one hit.

Wasn't there another jet shot down, but that time from Syria?

Ah, found it:

Very similar situation. Very dangerous capabilities with what is likely poor training. Very much the reason why Iran should not have nukes.

Whats disturbing in the video is you see the video that CTV is showing is that you see the first missile launch, it streaks out and hits the plane and then you see the launch of a second missile 20 seconds after the first and after the plane was hit.

I doubt that any investigators will get to talk to the operator or commander, but Canada and the Ukraine should be out right demanding it.

wouldn't that standard disqualify the US as well?

The new video showing the missile strikes 20 to 30 seconds apart Now I'm not positive on this video yet as the date stamp is older.

Quote:
The date visible on the footage is “2019-10-17,” not Jan. 8, the day the plane was downed. We believe this is because the camera system is using a Persian calendar, not a Gregorian one. Jan. 8 converts to the 18th of Dey, the 10th month in the Persian calendar. Digitally that would display as 2019-10-18 in the video. One theory is that the discrepancy of one day can be explained by a difference between Persian and Gregorian leap years or months.
The explanation in the New York Times is as follows

https://www.nytimes.com/2020/01/14/w...ash-video.html

Watched the video. It's a little bit hard to see what's going on. But the first missile misses? and then they shoot another one about 30 seconds after the first?

Obviously, the distances look smaller from our view, but they aren't shooting from that far away. Surely, they'd be able to get enough of a visual to distinguish between a jumbo jet and a cruise missile. You'd assume the speeds would be totally different.

Not even just visually you'd be able to tell what that plane is.

I really just think someone was on that plane they didn't want leaving the country
