With the way Edmonton media is treating this, I’m curious if it’s a tactic they are going with to deflect attention away from the loss of their biggest game in 3 years. It does always seem Spector and mathiesen have a playbook that have to follow...
Already been brought up. But it completely is.
And that's why the best response to all this hogwash is simply
HA HA,
FLAMES WIN.

Love how the staples article tries to feign objectivity by citing ‘TSN analyst’ Jason Strudwick (born in Edmonton, played for them, probably lives there and has an Oiler license plate) as well as upshall- born in Fort Mac, likely another oilers homer. I am sure if our media lined up a bunch of biased ex players with flames affiliation or ‘insiders’ they would be in tkachuk’s corner. Everyone can have their opinion- and many people don’t like chucky- just don’t try and sell it like you are anything but a butt hurt Edmonton fanboy staples.

The thing that makes me laugh is everyone complaining about the hits being "predatory".
Most big hits are predatory.
You rarely catch a guy with a big hit when he's in a good position.
Now if you hit a guy "dirty and predatory", ie. he doesn't have the puck, you launch into his head, use an elbow, etc. Then that's an issue.
But in this circumstance only really the first one was borderline, and that's because Kassian was in such a bad position with his head so low. You can hit a guy in a bad position as long as he had the puck, and it's still a clean hit.

Kassian deserves everything he gets. He's a goon. i wonder how the Oilers fans took this incident when it happened. Good guy Kassian?
Had Tkachuk hit his head on the ice while being rag dolled or being knocked out with one of the sucker punches, we would be dealing with a much different situation and outcome. The guy was out to injure.
Bertuzzi's punch was no worse than any of Kassian's, and done with a glove on. If Moore didn't get knocked out with the initial hit and hit his head on the way down, that would have been a different situation as well, but it ended up what it is. The league needs to act properly and not just act when someone gets hurt and gets put on a stretcher.

Yes, two of their objective NHL players........heavy ties to the Oilers..............
I've literally never been so confused by something hockey related before. I get they don't like him as a pest, that's fair......... but he's yet to do anything bad related to the Oilers......ever. No targeting star players, no illegal hits, nothing....... Got to give credit to Tkachuk, he's completely mind ####ed them somehow.........and it's not just the fans, or the media, it's right down to the players. They are obsessed with him, they are focusing on him vs. the games, and he hasn't even had to do a single dirty thing to make it happen.
People, including the likes of Ferraro used to talk about how the Flames need sandpaper and more players that walk the line (even though now they are complaining about it) and Tkachuk is literally doing that perfectly, staying just on the right side of the line and it's causing the most amazing #### storm ever.

After what Looch got for his tap of Zadorov we know it has to be more than 2. I am guessing 4.
If it's 5 does he miss the next two BOAs? I'm actually hoping for 2 games (although think 3 is more appropriate) because I actually think Kassian not in the line up and taking this whole side show the Oilers have created off the table is actually worse for the Flames. It be nice for Kassian to be dressed, and still be fuming about this the next time we play them.
I was in that camp that felt Kassian had gone too far (as much as I liked to see the rough justice on Tkachuk), but then I saw more angles of clips of that first blindside Tkachuk hit and head shot on Kassian. It’s one of the nastiest, most reckless and vile hits I’ve seen in hockey.
Good grief. I don't usually even mind Staples that much but this is pure propaganda.
