Remember when Kassain got coked up and drunk and crashed his truck? Wonder how much the woman got paid off to take the blame.

Oh by the way, Geoff Ward is now 14-5-1 as Flames coach. That's an 120-point pace.

It was great seeing the Oilers bench in tonight's game. Assistant coaches Playfair and Gulutzan. One of the three worst coaches for the Flames in the last 15 years and the worst coach in Calgary Flames history. Right at home up there.

They will always go nowhere. I am looking forward to McDavid joining an NHL team in a few years so he can compete for a cup.

not like tkachuk is out there preying on small skill players, hes playing hard against guys that also aren't afraid to play the rough game. you know chucky knew exactly what he was doing after the second hit and went on to screen for the goal in the ensuing powerplay. to top it all off, he wasn't afraid to go after him a third time to really hammer the point home. I wish we had 10 tkachuks

Exactly.

Not like he was out there targeting Yamamoto.

He went after there biggest toughest guy and rocked him three times. Including one last time for good measure after the caveman had lost it.

Imagine being Kassian. Just being so angry but also being incredibly dumb and lacking the vocabulary to express it so you just grunt and slam your fist into your open hand. God that must be so frustrating for him. What a caveman.

In order to go beyond "mediocre", teams have to possess swagger and be willing to back it up. With each game, Andersson seems to be willing to show that he's not only an increasingly valuable asset on-ice, that he's not only willing to stir things up with his swagger, but that he's also willing to go out on the ice and back up his words with his play.

If the Flames are going to rank amongst the best-of-the-best in the NHL, they need to put comparisons to the (c)Oilers in the distant rearview mirror and concentrate on themselves. I am really hopeful that guys like Andersson and Tkachuk continue to be outspoken, on and off the ice, as they take over leadership roles on this team.

No fear. No mercy.
I was thinking this same thing the other day, reminded me of the past dominant Flames teams.

I believe the swagger has to do with the coaching change. The players seem more engaged and no longer look like they are squeezing sticks, pouting when they make a bad play or take a bad penalty. Ward lets the guys play an emotional game.

Ward moving the skilled players throughout the line up has to be hard for teams with lessor skilled players on the lower lines.

Him and Tkachuk becoming the leaders is what the team needs.

I love what Gaudreau and Monahan do on ice, but vocally they do not bring that swagger. And when the Oilers had that little run going against us under gulutzan, the results just didn't seem to bother them much. Just didn't feel like they cared that much about the rivalry. They'd just keep it ho hum and respectful, whereas guys like Matthew and Rasmus actually seem to be frothing at the mouth to stick it to that team and that's what I've been dying to see from our top players. That's what we need. Some guys to go into battle, fire some shots at the other side and inspire the rest to get on board.

Tkachuk with the Jack Parkman inspired trash talk.

Still lots of concerns with the team 5v5 but their skill level is high enough to overcome those deficiencies. They played dominant hockey tonight so hopefully that continues going forward.

It will be amazing if Kassian gets suspended tomorrow (comparable is Lucic suspension).

The Oilers fan base is all calling for a Tkachuk suspension for the first hit and of Kassian has a hearing instead itd be amazing.
