One could argue that his game and the resulting 30 point pace is not second line caliber on a good team.

That pace is with only 11 minutes of even strength ice time per game. His point per 60 minutes has him 4th on the team, ahead of Monahan and Gaudreau.

The GM's got to wear this one. I don't believe for a second that he asked around and not one person told him what Peters was like. I don't expect him to know about the racial slurs necessarily. But looking at all the former Carolina players and sources coming out now he should have known who this coach was.

He would have to sue himself because he said the defamatory comment. Peters v Peters

· Sixth in scoring among forwards, and fifth overall since returning from injury.
· Tied for fourth in goals behind only Tkachuk, Lindholm and Monahan.
I don't think it's a great argument.

Good grief people.
It wasn't that long ago that Kevin Spacey was revered by many as a star.
It wasn't that long ago that Graham James was owner, coach and GM of the Calgary Hitmen.
It wasn't that long ago that Bill Cosby was known for the Cosby show and jello.
It wasn't that long ago that Mike Babcock was seen as the best coach in the NHL with a pricing war to get his services.
There's always some stories here and there and some rumours, but not enough to act on, until someone openly speaks up about a heinous incident.
Bill Peters just 24 hours ago was considered a good hardnose old style coach that got the Flames to 2nd place and the 2nd best finish in Flames history, coached Team Canada, and who's team was in a slump who may have lost the room with players underperforming.
How the heck is this on Treliving? The Flames will do the right decision based on recent heinous racial allegations, and that's it. Bill Peters allegedly hitting someone during a game years ago wouldn't have done it on its own.

I get the feeling the decision is made and lawyers are negotiating a severance package. Maybe they let him take responsibility and technically resign but they still pay him for this year or more.... etc.

Oh geez.
Compare him to the league, not to his (to this point) lousy team.
He is tied for 250th in scoring.
He shows a lot of compete, which is nice, and still has to deal with getting routinely manhandled.
Shows promise but is not yet a second liner on a good team

Over/under on the repair bill for Peters hotel room when he checks out?
If he has this many issues, he is certainly having a meltdown in that room...

I was addressing the thought that Bennett should be given more time on the second line, presumably in place of Mangiapane. Is there a good reason to swap Mangiapane out for a player who is not performing nearly as well? I don't see it.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but has anyone made allegations similar to Aliu's yet? This, an incident the player is breaking silence on now. If nothing else has come to light, how is Tre to unearth something no one else has?
Not only that, had he called Jordan directly would he have told Tre about the incident him and his agent decided to stay quiet on? Nevermind that those stories fit the bill of what many teams have looked for in coaches. Who was the other guy? Has there been more than that? If you read some posts, it's 5-10 coming forward already
These are reasons to seperate yourself from Peters now, but I don't hang this on Tre (knowing what we know so far)

Treliving isnt going down with Peter's. That's just a fantasy for the fire Treliving crowd.
I think most people have it correct in that the lawyers are covering all bases but Peter's is done. I dont think now there is any other way around it. All that matters now is how long they need to cover the legal side.
So long Peters. I'm upset because on the face of it, I loved hearing you talk about the game. But your behind the curtains BS has to go, full stop.

Most people are a lot more willing to talk if they don't have to do it in public.
