If you think Mike Commodore had harsh words for Babcock you are in for a treat to hear what I would have to say about Bill Peters ... Worst human being to ever coach me ... treated me terrible on a AHL team (IceHogs) where I won a League Award for Community Service. #badguy
Just for context, McMorrow was a goon who played 25 games in the AHL that year (and nowhere else) and had a zero stat line, sandwiched in between seasons in the LNAH (where he had 4 points and 527 pms) and the British Elite league (where he had 6 points and 310 pms). I'm darn sure Peters was hard on him, but it probably was because he was a poor hockey player.

Coaching attracts a certain kind of psycho. There are some people who think being a psycho IS the job. They usually don't last as long.

Meanwhile, to reiterate.

White people can't say the N-word. Not only can we not say it, why would we want to? There's no salient point being made that just needs one extra N-word to truly resonate.

That sounds less like context and more like victim blaming.

He sucked so it was okay if (and yes, right now that's an IF), Peters treated him like crap?

Please.

The point is if you thought it was okay at the time or not.

I’ve heard lots of derogatory jokes/comments, using the N word, when I was younger. Never once did I think it was acceptable however.

As you admit yourself, the Kovalchuk thing is completely different from the Peters thing. You're trying to make apple juice using oranges.

I'm not sure what you are even trying to get at here. There's no reason for the league to fine the Flames for the actions of its coach back when he wasn't with the team or even in the NHL. Hell, if the NHL tried, the Flames would probably have a strong legal position from which to challenge such an attempt. It just seems like you really want to push a narrative where the league hates the Flames.

If these allegations are true, Peters will get fired and he'll never coach in the NHL again. That's as far as it will go from the league's perspective.

It's not victim blaming at all. If there was something untoward done fine. But all McMorrow has said was that he was treated badly. Crappy hockey player says coach treated him badly? That's not exactly news. That's Bowman stuff. If it rises to what Aliu is alleging, or what Commodore says about Babcock, or even what Hartley was accused of, let me know.

Yeah, but you're a 6 year old.

10 years ago, before you were born, it was perfectly acceptable.

I didn't say it was acceptable. I said I heard it on a near daily basis. I still cringe about thinking 'n**** rigged' was actually how to say you Macgyver something haha. Heard that for years and it didn't sink in what it actually meant.

He needs to get on this. It's pretty simple stuff for him to answer. The longer it goes the more likely it is that something happened and he's having to craft the best response he can. Or that he's negotiating his exit.

I wouldn’t expect to hear anything from him until after the Flames skate.

This kind of stuff NEEDS to be taken with a grain of salt...when you coach any high level sports for this long there are going to be players that don't like you no matter who you are.

Focus on the Aliu incident and did he or didn't he or if there are other similar incidents...not POTENTIALLY bitter ex players who were treated "terrible". Be a lengthy list for all NHL coaches I am thinking.

I wonder if Bill runs the skate today or the bench tomorrow...
