The last game was a 9-1 pummeling by the Whalers. I think that the only real change they made was to call up Vernon from Moncton.

I'd like to say relax, no big changes are coming, the worlds not ending and all of that stuff. Eventually things will even out.

Maybe we're going to the Stanley Cup finals this year like we did in 86.
I agree with the sentiment and where your head is at (I also didn't know there was an 11 game slide in '86) - but isn't changing your starting goalie a pretty big change?

Breaking up the Tkachuk-Monahan-Mangiapane line for absolutely no reason defies logic.

He just had to swap out Backlund on the second line, move Lindholm to centre and audition players to play right wing until something clicked.

This is so obvious, fans are saying it, pundits are saying it, and I'm sure opposing teams are happy that the obvious move is not being done, making their jobs easier.

I tried not to get on Peters, but this is straight up stupid.

I agree, and I'm like you about not second guessing the coaching decisions that often. I thought, even with the loss of the lead, that the game against the Avs had more energy than for a long time, and the start was fine. And Tkachuk and Monahan had a little something going. You could put Dube there now.

I still maintain Gaudreau-Lindholm-Backlund could be a line. But Backlund on the wing and secondary faceoff guy.

aside from it being an unnecessary Oiler trash tweet, I can't even figure out what's really wrong with that gif. there's tons of clips of players on the bench making weird faces out of context (hello Olli J) and this one doesn't even register on that scale. are we really supposed to be making conjectures about Johnny's off-ice life based on this?

Lol, is that what you took away from it?

It could be nothing, but in context... I don't think it's a stretch to think he's upset

I don't know whether it has been said or not, but I have been wondering whether Brodie's collapse and hospitalization has had a significant effect on the team's latest performance. I can see it being a shock to the players to witness such a thing. The slide happened soon after his collapse. Also with the close relationship between the Gio and Brodie, it may have had more of an affect on our Captain and his ability to lead.

Thankfully I see Brodie is now practicing and should play soon.

just a hunch

We still have more than 2/3 of the season left. Still too many games to count them out just yet. However, by January if things continue like this, yeah, might as well start the tanking.

I sure hope that if there's gonna be a fire sale and the team tanks, I hope they will tank properly this time around. This organization is just kidding themselves with that pride BS to prove that you don't need proper high draft picks to build the team up with the necessary quality talents.

The lines Peter's is putting out certainly isn't helping the cause. He's as much to blame for this along with the players.

Trying not to throw up maybe every shot they showed of him on the bench last night after a shift he was hunched over looked exhausted

While it’s true that some teams that do very poorly at the start of the season end up thriving, most teams that start out poorly end up continuing to do poorly.

Those are the odds. The outlier doesn’t disprove the usual.

Well, your premise is true, except you have to weigh in the fact that NONE of the Flames key players are even close to playing to their potential.

If they could remedy that serious problem.....lots of good things could happen in a hurry.
