I think the Flames should just embrace the suck. Tank for the year, don't trade any of the big names because we would get fleeced for sure.
Trade Brodie, Jankowski, Frolik, Bennett, and Hamonic for younger pieces and draft picks. Re-tool at the deadline and make sure you get it right for next season.
I agree with no knee-jerk reactions, but clearly there are players here that are not pulling their weight AND are not core pieces here.

Well. Almost guaranteed out of a playoff spit come American Thanksgiving. Will need a hell of a run just to get somewhat back on track. Don't think a loss will trigger it at this point. If they suck, I hope they really suck and get a top 5 pick.

I'm amazed that with how bad the Flames have been of late, that they're still not pretty much out of a playoff spot. The West is bad this year.

I don't think Treliving is as good of a GM as people make him out to be. Has delivered nothing but mediocre results during his tenure. Wouldn't be disappointed to see him go.

When just last season, last place in January Blues went on to win the cup and every top seed lost in the opening round, and a couple of those bottom seeds went on deep runs, I can no longer subscribe to the Thanksgiving standings being a set in stone indicator of how things will finish.
There has never been a more wide open and unpredictable NHL than right now. Top seeds no longer feel like shoo ins to do anything.
Just get in.
