Sorry, I wanted to address this, what do you feel has crossed the line into "personal"? All my criticisms have been of your ideas, not you as a person. It is not up to me nor is it up to anyone else to walk you through why you're wrong, finding those answers is your responsibility, but people have certainly tried. Your ideas/points/opinions have ranged from false to complete nonsense.
"You're wrong" is not a position. Well, it is, but it's a position typically held by a six year old who lacks the intellect to elaborate. Guess I expect more substance, but that's just me. Maybe you've won everyone over as their hand wavy moral leader.

No I didn't. Re-read the comment. The sentence starts with "imagine". In the United States if that scenario had played out it would be a first amendment issue.

Laziest. Rebuttal. Ever. Care to explain why? You have yet to even try to make a case. This is the problem with your debating in general, "you're wrong" is not a position worth considering. I linked to the article on "the chilling effect" to benefit those unfamiliar with the term, would you like me to quote the relevant bits?

I didn't define racism. My point was that the term "racist" is thrown around so much and stretched so thin that the dictionary can't even keep up. Look up the word "irregardless", it's definition is "regardless" -- people use words wrong, or hell, make them up. Hardly a basis for anything.

Are you arguing that the exception proves the rule here? Would be par for the course.

No. Again, you completely miss the point.

Yeah, and that's ridiculous. Sorry.

Yup. That's what I did. If you're only capable of a literal interpretation, I guess.

Again, these are criticisms of your ideas. Who you are is and has been irrelevant to the conversation, so please stop pretending it's personal.
I don't go around calling people racist. The point was to make the case that those who are could themselves be perceived as racist and as such should maybe think before they post. Clearly you missed the point. But that's OK, I'm used to that by now.

I see this sentiment was short lived:

Again, the answers and elaboration you're asking for have been offered time and time and time again in this thread. What you do with that is up to you, but my confidence is low this post is going to stop you from ignoring them. So do you.

That comment on the Social is completely out of line. I don't want her fired, that is just stupid, but she needs to acknowledge that is not a fair comment to 'white boys" and have a chance to re phrase what she was trying to get across.
I have no problem with what Cherry said. I live in a small town and travel to Toronto often, and every time I can wait to leave. The people are rude! Hold a door from someone, see if they even say thanks... probably not! I don't care if your black, brown, purple or blue, if you came to this country to make your life better than at least respect our culture. That's all he was getting at! This world is getting way too SOFT, it's awful. Thanks Justin Trudeau for helping to pussify this great Nation.

Let's just back track for a moment here.
-I think most here agree that there is a great deal of merit towards encouraging more support for the veterans with poppies and remembrance day.
-We all seem to agree that immigrants and native Canadians both have valid reasons to support this movement.
-We have native Canadians acknowledging they could do more to support the cause
-We have new immigrants identifying with the point they may not be totally aware of the significance not having grown up here, and would be open to learning more about the history, and in turn would be willing to chip in and support. Its not a matter of turning a blind eye, but a matter of lack of awareness being spread to everyone equally.
-We all seem to agree that Cherry's support for the military, Canadian pride, and our veterans has merit, and in a vacuum, is a good thing... that with proper massaging of the message could be valuable.
In understanding these points, Cherry's remarks in singling out one group, and his tact in criticizing specific groups (rather than educating) was not only ineffective and unfair, but it did more than border on racism when specific groups were targeted.

Another snowflake getting triggered. Ah did the big bad corporation hurt your feelings? Man up my dude.
I didn't call you a six year old. I said your debating tactics are what I'd expect from one. There is a difference. You can do better.
Ah, so when I critique your position, it's a "personal attack," and when you do the same, you're quick to defend that your weak definition of "personal attack" actually doesn't apply to your posts. Weird! lol
I'm just playing with you. Call my position that of a six-year-old all you want, it's all good, just a bit phony to play the weak "personal attack" card and act the same way to others.
As I said, you do you. I'll let your posts speak for themselves.
