The Canucks may well be the best Canadian team right now. The Canadian teams have not come out of the gate gangbusters.

For sure the fawning over Petterson is annoying, but I think that if Johnny was playing well then he'd be getting more attention. He's going to go with the hot hand.
Tough to argue against that right now. Which canadian team is playing better right now? The Coilers? No. Yeah I get where the season is at, but american thanksgiving is only 8-11 games away and that's been a pretty good predictor of playoff teams. I think 4 canadian teams make the playoffs.

I’m really liking Cory on air. Commodore is the fun loving goofy one, Krahn is good but a bit too much of a punching bag for me. I’m not sure what they’re looking for but I know who I would choose. Just don’t try and make whoever they decide to bring on, something they’re not.

Since this has also turned into a general 960/Calgary AM radio discussion, just wanted to say I'm pretty sure I want to punch "Trace Ventura" in the face..man he's obnoxious as hell

Speaks volumes about the talent that I didn't realize it was Boomer's kid reading ads this morning, just thought it was Riley whatshisname.
Also I will second the Trace Ventura comment. Who gives themselves a stage name for reading traffic?

Someone who doesn't want a listeners hearing him on another gig saying "Oh, he's just the traffic guy". Or else it's just a silly gag.

He's on the radio. He'll be recognized for his voice if he is at all.

Really? I bet there's a half dozen radio people who had different shows and you wouldn't know them from the previous one. These guys change handles all the time, depending on format. (see Rip Tide lol).
Radio traffic guy is so entry level that it's pretty routine to use an alias, in case there's a bigger job later.

Pretty sure it's some kind of silly gag he thinks is funny (which it's not), and is pretty dated. When the heck did that pet detective movie come out? Early 90's? I remember watching it in junior high in video tape format it was so long ago.

^Trace is one of the real good guys in radio and does his best to make traffic reports entertaining. Not everyone's cup of tea but he's a total pro.
He's been on the Calgary scene for decades.

Yes he did.
And I personally loved ace Ventura, just because it’s old-er, doesn’t make it dated.

Did we ever find out the reason behind the Klein-Nault switch? Was this forced on them, or did Klein decide he didn't like the morning? Seems like a demotion to go from morning co-host to afternoon producer.

I'm starting to think the perfect 3-man team would be Boomer with Krahn and Sarich.

I don't doubt "Trace Ventura" is a good guy off air, but he's annoying on it. Dad humour to the extreme, including his handle. I can tell at least the morning show agrees, more than once when coming back from a traffic update, Deforest has taken a little jab at him and not in a friendly co-worker way..his report rhymes are gag-worthy.
I just find it to be in poor taste sometimes too. Mostly it's just fender benders, but there's been the odd time where I've eventually passed the accident scene and it looks fairly serious - pretty crunched car, ambulance on scene - and he's made some little dad joke pun about it. Classy
