Peter's gonna peel paint for days by the sounds of it. Cant say as I blame him, he summed it up perfectly by saying the boys are too comfortable and need more from the vets. It's time to get going cuz David and Matt masking some definite weak play lately with last minute heroics.

Flames are only 2 points out of the division lead after tonight. Granted, everybody currently has games in hand on them. But still, given how mediocre the Flames have been to start the season, they're still right there. If we can string at least 3 or 4 wins together, we'll be in excellent shape.
Most hilarious comment from Gaskal's "Around the League Report" was the very last one. Seriously, Oiler fans are watching the standings thinking they have a shot at the playoffs? They should be concerned with having too many points early on and making their perennial tank and corresponding lottery odds worse.
i've actually started turning off oiler games where they trail late in the third and don't check the scores later to stay in a good mood. it's almost like edmonton just wants to hang in long enough to start skating in the last 4 or 5 minutes and pray that mccrossover and drysaddle will go and get a tying goal.
happy with the w tonight, but the flames need to start playing a complete 60 minutes and need to stop with the brutal turnovers! yikes!

To be fair, that same comment was also concerned about the 4-10-1 Sharks having a lead, so I think they know.
Two points are all that matter but this victory doesn't really alleviate concerns with this team as they played poorly and Rittich stole two points. I'm shocked by how dangerous Grabner was all game. I don't recall seeing McDavid get that many breakaways and odd man rushes in a game.
So, I missed the game, but it sounds like two periods of ECHL hockey followed by 10 minutes of SC Champion hockey in the third. Much like the game before.
That's not a recipe for long term success.
