I should be able to marry whoever I please, it has no bearing on anybody else. It just seems so strange that some people would take offence if I married a man... what difference does it make?

the West doesn't want Goodale, giving him a senate seat would be more like a slap in the face.
Yeah you voted him out, but your wrong to do that.
I don't know how Justin is going to close the gap with the West, especially after his Oil Money and Oil Barons are the enemy statements and throwing the Provincial Governments under the bus as enemies of the people.
He has a very short period of time to get this pipeline construction happening in BC, but he has no good will to work with, and his first act will probably be to force the Carbon Tax on Alberta now that psycho Catherine is back.

Vancouver Granville is a wild race. JWR jumped into the lead from third. Up by 100 votes though.

Yeah, conservatives are going to have to shed their image that people have of them regarding LGBTQ issues. It's almost 2020... time to accept people however they identify themselves as.
That said, I think we can all agree that religion, and religious institutions, have no place in government and need to be weeded out and left behind as quick as possible. Separate church and state.

It's 100% because the actual leadership election of the Conservative party is so low that special bigot religious groups can take control and make a difference. If Albertans should take anything away from this election it is to get involved with the CPC leadership so we can actually put in a leader people outside of Alberta won't be embarrassed to vote for.
Instead it will be a "woe is me" attitude here tomorrow.

Here I agree with you. But I think they can’t help themselves.

My new enemy is electoral maps.
The amount of people saying "But half of Manitoba is orange!" Or any variation thereof is becoming nauseating.

Liberals with one seat in the provinces west of Ontario. I'm glad there's one guy in the CBC panel who brought up electoral reform.

And he's got his pension, which was why he got into government in the first place.

A few folks in here talking about how on earth they could want Trudeau, the conservative platform doesn’t align with 60% to 65% of the country. Liberals, NDP, Greens, Bloc...all Left or Centre Left.
Andrew Coyne put it pretty well I think, if the conservatives don’t start looking past its base, it will have a hard time winning. Alberta is a shoe-in, Sask is a shoe in, but to win you need to start appealing to more than just the base. There’s a bubble in Alberta, outside of it nobody really cares about the oil patch.
People care about climate change, LGTBQ rights, abortion rights, fair taxes for the middle class, less tax breaks for big business, yet the conservative platform cling to those ideas. That’s not going to fly with the left/Centre left, so you won’t get those votes.

I’ve just never understood why we can’t take responsibility for what we do, instead of throwing up our hands and saying “but China...”. China is, BTW, also huge and cold.

I'd say it's being honest. For example I'm not religious in fact I think religion is quite silly but I don't look down on people that are, I respect why they believe what they believe. I would never bully them into believing science as I do for example.
But be honest, if you say you are pro life or for traditional marriage the mob will come for you.
