I would agree with goffie here ...i wasnt around the last sim injuries were used but last year when players were suspended in the nhl, they were suspended in the cphl too.
If a guy gets hurt the offensive player should definatley recieve a suspension.

I can sympathize with the injury situation. Perhaps sim suspensions could be an option next season. The sim injury part seems to work better than the real life fiasco of trying to keep track.

I just looked and suspensions arent turned on. I agree they should be but I dont think we can/should change it now. We will turn them on for next season though.

Ethan Moreau would like to apologize for injuring Saku Koivu with a high stick tonight! No need for the league to get involved!

I think it is time to GOON it up..Play the players that can cause the most physical harm..It will only cost you a game misconduct. I may have a few GOONs that are available

I agree but suspensions should only be handed out for certain penalties that result in injury... who knows how consistent the sim will be. We should have suspensions but I think the league should decide when and for how long.

Good idea, however it is kind of hard to do this as they would not see the incident as it happens, would be different if you could watch the incident, but would put the league in an awkward situation having out a suspension for a play they will never see. I agree with KG that it is too late to change it for this season but next season sim suspensions to accompany sim injuries is a good idea.

Yea nevermind, I forgot that suspensions are only handed out if a major penalty is also handed out. As long as that's the case than the sim can't really screw up.
Knowing how weird the sim can be, I was just afraid that it would hand out dumb suspensions. For instance handing out a suspension when a player gets hurt on a tripping penalty. But, penalties like that can never be majors so it can't happen anyway.

Yeah, I thought something was up without these suspensions. I want a redo of the 2005 Stanley Cup final from game 4 on after Shane Doan injured Kovalchuk, but without the 5 game suspension.

Never thought I'd see those words written.
I agree, suspensions would seem to be a fair way of balancing the injury factor. Although, overall, I'd like to see the injury level turned down a notch or two. I've also lost a fair number of man games this year as well, often to my top players. Nothing compared to the Pens, but frustrating none the less. Its all part of the challange, and one of the reasons I have built a team with top six forwards on my top 3 lines. The versitility has allowed me to shuffle players and positions to ice a competetive team. Again, I have not been hit quite as hard as Goffie. At one point I had Vokoun, Timonen, Alfredsson, Federov and Rolston out, but they were only missing for a couple games.

don' t mind the suspensions, as long as teams realize (even those with alot of injured players ) that this is a 2nd way for every club to lose even more guys

Well, if we were using NHL injuries there would be about 70 guys on the IR right now. And a higher percentage of them would be more then 'day-to-day'. Using the SIM we only have 23 guys on the IR. If anything we should be turning injuries up.

Including suspensions would likely help in this regard.
In the NHl there are few suspensions....and really just one or two of any length.
If we implement suspensions in the sim I think we'll see more suspensions in the CPHL then there are in the NHL, which would get us closer to a total number of "man games loss" for what the NHL has.

I agree, CPHL injury total has been low all season compared to the NHL. Not sure how many suspension would be handed out in CPHL.

Exactly. I have hardly suffered any injuries this year....no long term ones anyways. I have told several GM's that I would welcome a big injury to force me to change it up but as of yet it hasn't happened.
KG is right, if anything injuries need to be turned up to make it more realistic and compatiable with the NHL.
OR, turn on the suspensions for next year and I bet we will have a great balance and realistic total of man games lost.
