Jankowski's shorthanded goals last year masked that he's not really a great PK defender.

Maybe he's bothered by the fact he was traded this summer?

In a weird way, I appreciated Doughty's antics at the end. Sets this up as a fantastic rivalry. Both he and Tkachuk brought it big time tonight.

Think the only reason he's in the line up is because Huska likes him on the PK. Just doesn't bring anything beyond that unfortunately.

Do you really think it’s about the bad penalty?

Being objective, Sam is a highly competitive player. He, along with many of his boosters , has( have) a highly exaggerated opinion of his hockey IQ and skill level.

We wish they were right.

No indication up to this point, that it is remotely possible .

Just my opinion.

Need to start seeing more Rasmus Anderson...every time he's out there something good happens. His shot from the point was the main reason why the game got tied up. Really want him to have an extended run with Gio on the first pair

I wonder if we would have taken Draisaitl in '14 if the Oil had passed on him?

lol bingo. I had already forgotten how insane the swings are in game-related threads. Bennett was just marginally worse than the last couple games, with one penalty that was painfully timed, but suddenly goes from “Give him more time! More! He belongs on the 2nd line!” to “Trade that bum for a 3rd! He’ll NEVER BE WHAT I WANT HIM TO BE! HE HAS BETRAYED ME!”

It’s kind of beautiful, in a way.

I love it. That was a fun end to the game, good for Doughty. Hopefully next game Tkachuk gets to rub it in the Kings face

Crossbar is the deciding factor. Not the shoulders.

He did have a good pre season and start to this season, which is why tonight was so disappointing. He has taken way to many horrible penalties, many at critical times in the game. Sitting him for a game is not to crap on his start to the season, it’s to teach him a lesson and that he can’t be careless in such crucial moments

If Janko has lost his PK touch, then yeah, no reason he needs to be here. 3 games in and we already have what? 3 forwards the fans would trade right now. Bennett, Janko and Frolik. Mind you, looking at Fro on the bench tonight, I'm sure hed like himself off this team too. Wasn't even happy on the tying goal.

I really liked Mangiapane on the 2nd line.

Wish Bennett clicked there, but maybe he's just a solid 3rd liner. Can't have that late tripping penalty though obviously.

Incorrect. Rule 80 if you want to read the applicable rule. There should have been a whistle as soon as he touched the puck again.

Again, the crossbar is the deciding factor for a shot that goes into the net

The shoulders are the deciding factor for knocking a puck down to gain possession.

So on the first touch, the puck was below his shoulders, and for the 2nd the puck was contacted below the crossbar.

Toronto recently scored a similar goal where Spezza knocked the puck down to a teammate above the crossbar, which is legal.

I’m still not convinced Tkachuk caught the puck with a high stick anyway. Now the puck deflected off Monahan’s glove to the point, but not sure that’s a hand pass.

crossbar is the deciding factor for pucks hit into the net...not for puck in general play

The puck was waist high when hit into the net
